Q. I am a 36 year old considering having breast implants. There are a few questions I would like answering before I consider it any further…Costs and how much will the procedure cost? How long do the implants last, I have heard they only have a life of 10 years, can i have the gummy bear ones, do you use teardrop ones, do you do saline, if they go hard is it free to replace them?

A. There is a lot of information about breast implants you should know and I’ve put the information on line at http://www.labelleforme.co.uk/breast_implants.html so please have a read of that. To answer your specific questions: the implants I use are the gummy bear ones, and you can have any implant you want (saline, silicone, round, teardrop). Some implants are more expensive than others, but the prices start at £3499 and go up to just under £5000 depending on the cost of the implant. They last a lifetime but if they go hard then there’s only one manufacturer where we’ll replace them for free within 5 years. The others are only covered for one year, but are less likely to go hard in the first place.

Q. Lets say that I would like to have smooth round breast implants. Right now Im B cup, small B I guess. And I would like to have a full C. How much approximately this kind of operation would cost to me?

A. Thank you for your email. The use of smooth implants for breast enlargement is uncommon because of increase incidence of capsular contracture-hardening of breast. I prefer to use texturised implants. The total cost of breast enlargement using texturised round implants is from £3750/.Cup size is not exact science. Hence I will not be able to give answer to your question. You may wish to send me good quality photos for my initial comments.
