Q. Im looking for a surgeon that specialises in buccal fat removal to provide treatment for my cheek area. Please could you tell me how much on average the procedure will cost and the normal recovery times with no complications? Thanks
A. Hi there. I have performed buccal fat pad removal on people before and the approximate price is £3000 or thereabouts. The exact amount will be sent as a quote after a consultation, and of course the consultation is important to decide whether a buccal fat pad excision is the best procedure to perform for the aims you’re hoping to achieve.

Q. I have really cubby cheeks despite having a pretty good figure. Is it possible to reduce them with some kind of liposuction? If this wouldent be appropriate could you give me an idea of what would help?
A. Hello there are you talking about your face or your bottom? The two areas would be treated differently. On the face you might be suitable for buccal fat pad removal but on your bottom you may be suitable for liopsuction please do contact the office on 0845 2600 261 and Janine or Kim would be happy to help cheerio Paul Banwell help@paulebanwell.com www.skinisntituteuk.com

Q. Good Afternoon, I am a 24 year old woman who has lost over 4 stone in the past year, and although I have gained confidence in my body, and am satisfied with my weight of 8 1/2 stone, I have still got chubby cheeks and an overall roundness to my face which is hereditary from my father side. I am very interested in slimming my face with buccal fat pad removal, and also balancing my receding chin with an implant. I am also looking to enhance my breasts with an augmentation, as I have now shrunk from a large C cup, to a small B. I am hoping to go through with these cosmetic procedures by Feb/Mar next year, but need a general idea about the overall costs and time needed to recuperate. I would also be interested in seeing evidence of the surgeon work, (photographs etc), before embarking on this surgery.
A. Thank you for your inquiry. The recovery period for the procedures that you are describing, in particular when done in combination would involve 2 weeks for return to work and socialising. For guidance regarding costs related to more common aesthetic surgery procedures, or combination of procedures, please visit my website at: http://aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk/about-cost-of-surgery.php If you would like to find out regarding the cost of procedures not included in the list, or different combinations, kindly contact our office either by telephone at: 020 7486 7757, or by e-mail at: contact@aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk , and my team will be delighted to help you. Kind regards Lucian Ion, FRCS(Plast)

Q. Can you tell me how much swelling there is for the buccal fat pad removal as compared with malar implants? I had malar implants this summer and would like more definition but the swelling was so terrible (face was twice normal size)! Please let me know!
A. Thank you for your inquiry. The swelling related to buccal fat reduction is typically not noticeable. I would suggest he however that the best way forward is to have a 3-D photograph taken for your face, and to meet in consultation, in order to do a proper evaluation of the degree of change that you seek. In some instances, buccal fat reduction could fall short of your expectations, and it may be that the better approach would be to use liposuction to the lower cheeks and jaw line, or a combination of buccal fat reduction and liposuction. If you do have liposuction to the lower face, there is sometimes a bit of bruising related to the treatment, although more commonly what people notice is a degree of yellow discoloration to the lower part of the face, which tends to clear in a few days.
