How long can I expect a chemical peel to last after treatment before it would need to be redone?

Filed under: Chemical Peel,Cosmetic Surgery,Dermaroller,Expert Answers,Mr LeRoux Fourie,Non Surgical Treatments — Tags: chemical peels, DermaRoller, Dermaroller gives better results with a shorted down time, experience with chemical peels — admin @ 1:15 am

Q. I wonder if you have any experience with chemical peels. How long can I expect a chemical peel to last after treatment before it would need to be redone?

A. I have stopped doing chemical peels as I found many patients complain of colour changes in the face after the peel. I have found Dermaroller gives better results with a shorted down time ie time off work of about 3 days where as a chemocal peel takes 10 to 14 days to settle. My experience with dermaroller is only 9 months and it looks promosing in the long term. I cant give you an idea how long peels last as I have not done any peels for the past 5 years

Is there something you could suggest to treat sun damaged skin

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Taimur Shoaib,Non Surgical Treatments,Skin Care — Tags: chemical peels, facials, great treatments for sun damaged skin, Laser Treatments, liposuction to knees, skin care regimes, treat sun damaged skin — admin @ 11:51 am

Q. Is there something you could suggest to treat sun damaged skin. The sun seems to highlight all my facial impurities and I would rather not stop going aboard as I love my time off. I already apply a high factor sunscreen and I always have but was thinking I could also apply some treatment in the morning and evenings that will help. Do you offer any kind of in home treatments that are more effective than the ones available on the high street?

A. Hi there. We have some great treatments for sun damaged skin and what you can get depends on the down time you’re willing to put up with, the extent of the improvement you want and your budget. You can arrange to see Jacqui, my beauty therapist if you want, Amanda, my laser specialist, Fiona, my nurse, or me, if you would like a formal consultation. I’m having an open evening on Wednesday 24th November and you can come and see all of us, as we’re all going to be there on that day. We can discuss creams, skin care regimes, facials, chemical peels, laser treatments and so on.

I am of black origin and have dark marks scattered on cheeks from acne

Filed under: Chemical Peel,Expert Answers,Mr LeRoux Fourie — Tags: black origin and have dark marks scattered on cheeks from acne, chemical peels, dark marks scattered on cheeks from acne, facial microdermabrasions — admin @ 10:52 am

Q. I am of black origin and have dark marks scattered on cheeks from acne. I also have a type of burn around my mouth from some cold sore cream I used. I have had facial microdermabrasions before which have faded the scars and have heard that chemical peels make a drastic difference so would like to give it a try. Can you tell me if this would be a good course of action please?

A. I personally would never do a chemical peel on a black or dark skin for fear of pigment changes. I would advise you to ask your GP to recommend a Dermatologist to give you advice RegardsLeRoux Fourie

Ive had 2 courses of skin resurfacing / chemical peels which cost £200 each

Q. Ive had 2 courses of skin resurfacing / chemical peels which cost £200 each, but have not noticed any improvement in my skin. Is there any better treatments for facial lines and somethingthat will firm my skin as well?

A. Thank you for your enquiry. Deeper chemical peels are likely to create more tightening effect, but they do end up more expensive and have  a longer healing period. Laser treatments are also an option, and these days most of the time they involve fractionated delivery, so that the healing is shorter and the risk of side-effects decreases.

Id like to tighten the skin around my face (especially around the eyes) and neck

Filed under: Chemical Peel,Expert Answers,Facelift,Laser Treatments,Mr Taimur Shoaib,Neck Lift — Tags: chemical peels, facelift and neck lift, facelift is definitely the best treatment, fat injections, Id like to tighten the skin around my face and neck, Laser Treatments, tighten the skin around my face — admin @ 10:02 am

Q. Id like to tighten the skin around my face (especially around the eyes) and neck and figure I would need a facelift and neck lift at achieve the desired results. Would I be best to have procedures like this together? I ask this because I am not able to pay for the entire costs myself and will likely have to finance a portion of the money if this means having all surgeries at the sametime I am happy to do this. I look forward to your answer.

A. If a facelift is definitely the best treatment for you then you would be best to do things together. However, sometimes the best treatment isn’t what you think may be the best treatment. This is why I usually say to people to come and see me, and let me know what concerns you and what you would like to achieve. I would like them to let you know what I think represents best value for money for the results you’re hoping to achieve. Sometimes we offer things like fat injections or laser treatments or chemical peels. So, as I say, do come and see me, let me know what your budget is and I can come up with a treatment plan for you,
