Q. I would like to find out prices and a little more about the chemical peel procedure that you offer.
A. Hello there thank you very much for your enquiry. I have a specialist interest in chemical peels and teach other doctors in the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia to perform this technique. chemical peels are a fantastic anti-ageing treatment and can also help with areas of pigmentation, acne and fine lines. The philosophy of chemical peels has also changed over recent years too. Goneare the days where your face falls off!!! it makes great TV but old-style peels cause scarring, pigmentation problems and you need to take weeks off. We now use a new generation of chemical peels called Procedure Precision peels which have a physiological effect and work with the skin to produce excellent results. Please look at my website for more details or phone Kim my secretary on 0845 2600 261 for more information. Peels start at £150 each or a course of 6 for £600. I look forward to seeing you take care PB

Q. I am in my thirties and developed severe adult acne and had to eventually take roaccutane to get rid of the acne but have been left with very bad scarring. I have some deep pitted large scars on my chin and also the roaccutane seems to have aged my skin as well so I would like a treatment that will not only improve the acne scars but also smooth and soften the appearance of my face.
A. I am so sorry that acne has left you with scars. Well done on getting it under control now. The pitted scars (ice pick scars) are best dealt with by excision, but this of course leaves you with other (albeit small) scars. This chin can be improved by some Botox and maybe some fillers or peels. You could also go for repeated chemical peels (and they have to be repeated if you have bad scars), but I don’t do these. I would look for someone who does a lot of peels in the first place. Please see www.barbarajemec.com for more information and please note I take a £200 fee for a consultation which is then deducted from the final price if you go ahead.

Q. I have read that the chemical peel treatment could eradicate my acne scarring. How affective do you find chemical peels on acne and how many treatments would it usually take to get the results I would like? In your opinion are there better treatments available for acne scarring. Regards
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, generally we find that chemical peels on acne treatment are relatively successful but are much more successful when treated or combined with derma roller treatment. The chemical peels act by flatting out the scarring and the dermaroller acts by stimulating your own skin to heal from below. For more information please visit our website http://aurora-skin-clinics.co.uk, where you’ll find lots of information about the procedure and if you’re not too squeamish videos of myself performing the operation itself. If you would like to schedule an appointment to discuss the best way forward for you please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Q. I want to know the price range for the chemical peel procedure and if it is available at your Glasgow surgery?
A. Hi there. I do chemical peels which are quite strong and my nurse does weaker peels. Both our prices are on line at http://www.labelleforme.co.uk/cosmetic_surgery_prices.html. I generally use 30% TCA which is best for sun damage and fine lines, and the concentration of peel we use depends on your “down time” which varies according to your skin quality

Q. I am 21 years old and I have severe acne scarring on my face and back. My doctor has prescribed antibiotics on several occasions with little to no improvement to any of the areas. The acne is starting to slow and I wondered if there was a treatment I could have on the affected areas?
A. There are several ways we can improve upon acne scarring including dermaroller, laser, peels and creams. The best treatment is probably one that we should decide after a consultation and we have treatments for different budgets and different aims and desires.

Q. I had a chemical peeling to my both arms a couple of years ago as I had pimple marks on both my arms. After couple of sitting the creams which I used made the chemical peel leave a mark on my arms. Copuld you advise why this happened?
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it’s difficult to say exactly what caused the marks on your arms following a chemical peel. I would have to say this is extremely unusual and it sounds as if something as if the peel may have damaged the pigment cells in your skin. This would result in pale marks in the region. I would suggest that it might best to go back to see the clinic in which you had the peel to discuss what happened and if anything can be done to remedy this. Many thanks for your enquiry, please let us know if you feel we could be of any further assistance. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Q. I would like to enquire about the details and cost of the chemical peel procedure.
A. A chemical peel with me costs £300 each time for a 30% TCA peel, which has a recovery time of around 1 week. My prices are on line at http://www.labelleforme.co.uk/cosmetic_surgery_prices.html and there are various different chemical peels you can have and so you have a choice. If you would like to see me for a consultation first there is a consultation fee, but if you have treatment on the day you get the consultation fee taken off the price of the treatment
