Q. I have heard and read many mixed reports about the efficiency of Thermage for tightening up the facial area and I wondered if you have any experience with the treatment? Is it good for facial skin and will it work for cellulite on other parts of my body?
A. There are several treatments that are “non-ablative heat treatments” including Titan, Thermage, etc. I think they have their role but all non surgical facial tightening treatments need to be repeated and have a mild to moderate effect. If you keep your aims at this level and have a consultation with someone who performs both facial surgery and facial thermage/titan/etc, then hopefully you will be able to get an honest opinion. Cellulite treatments, again, need to be repeated and have a mild to moderate effect, and I use Endermologie in my Glasgow clinic.
