Q. Hi Mr Fourie I have always had problems with my nipples being inverted and would love to know more about how this could be fixed. The right nipple is always inverted but the other is out sometimes. Could I please have a general guideline as to how much the procedure would cost? Where the scars would be located? A. Inverted nipple correction is done under local anaesthesia as an outpatient procedure. There are no scars as tiny punctures are made to allow the ducts that are retracting the nipple, to be cut. The nipple is then everted and held in position with internal dissolving stiches. You can drive home after the procedure and return to work the next day. Please be aware that you will not be able to breastfeed after the procedure. It is also important to distinguish between inverted nipples that are developmental and a nipple that gets pulled in in later life as this can be a sign of breast cancer.The cost is in the region of £1000
