How do I choose the best surgeon for a mini jaw lift

Q. How do I choose the best surgeon for a mini jaw lift? What happens if things go wrong? Is it true that if a particular facial nerve is severed, it is irreversible and leads to a lop sided face?

A. Do you mean a mini face lift/ neck lift or a jaw shortening procedure?  In face lifts nerve injury can occur but this usually recovers in 3 months.

A. Thank you for your enquiry.I do a mini face lift under local anaesthhetic and twilight sedation in the dedicated outpatient theatre in Methley Park Hospital near Leeds. The cost starts at £2000 but could be more if you need fat filling as well or liposuction to contour the neck. I can only give you a definate price once I gave examined you at consultation. The advantage of a mini lift are short scars just in the sideburn are and in front of the ear. Recovery is about 14 days as you will have some swelling during this time.To arrange an appointment please phone Christine on 01977664258RegardsLeRoux Fourie

I am 39 and very unhappy with my jaw line and lines forming on the sides of my mouth

Q. I am 39 and very unhappy with my jaw line and lines forming on the sides of my mouth. Would a mini face lift be the best permanent solution for this?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, the lines which come down from nose to the side of the mouth are called naso-labial lines. Lines that come down from the corner of the mouth are called marionette lines. Both of these are best treated with dermal filler injections which are simple and effective methods of restoring volume to this area. Botox therapy can also be used to redefine your jaw line although you are right that mini facelift does has this effect as well. Please have a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk for more information on these procedures and if you would like to schedule an appointment please ring us on 01844-214362. I would like to know how soon after a consultation could the surgery be carried out

Q. I would like to know how soon after a consultation could the surgery be carried out, and also could you give an average/approx cost of the mini face lift and full facelift. Thanks

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry regarding face lift surgery.   Generally, the recovery from a mini facelift procedure is slightly quicker than a full facelift.   However, with modern techniques there is much less bruising and swelling than there has been with previous techniques and I normally advise that most people are back to social activities within 2 weeks.   I tend to use a mini facelift procedure on people generally aged between 45-55 and more full facelift on people older than 55.   This often always varies with the individual and I’ll be delighted to discuss the best technique for you at the consultation.   If you would like to schedule a consultation please ring us on 01844-214362, we’ll be delighted to discuss a convenient time for this.   In the mean time, I think it might be sensible to have a look at our website http://aurora-skin-clinics.com.uk where you’ll find lots of information about the different types of facelift  procedures and the recovery period associated with them.   Many thanks for your enquiry, we do look forward to meeting you in person in the near future.   Best wishes yours sincerely,   Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Could you please advise the cost of the mini face lift

Q. Hi. Could you please advise the cost of the mini face lift. Please also advise if this procedure is known as the S-lift in Australia. Thank you

A. Thank you for your inquiry. At present, the notion of a mini facelift is generally associated with a short scar facelift procedure.   The S-lift procedure, which originates in Germany, is one of the earlier types of short scar facelift, but does not have a lot of popularity around the world, because of a number of characteristics.   For information regarding prices for the more common aesthetic surgery procedures or combinations of procedures, please visit my website at:   http://aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk/about-cost-of-surgery.php   For procedures not listed there, kindly contact my practice either by telephone at:  0207 486 7757   or by email at: contact@aesthetic-plastic-surgery.co.uk   any my team will be delighted to assist you.   Kind regards   Lucian Ion, FRCS(Past) Consultant Plastic Surgeon

I would like to know how much a mini face lift would cost

Q. I would like to know how much a mini face lift would cost. I have recently had to have dentures and now i have two deep wrinkle lines either side of my mouth. if i pull the skin up slightly from my cheeks they dissappear, so i know i only need a slight alteration which is why i have enquired about the mini face lift.

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, if the main concerns are the two deep wrinkles either side of your mouth this can be treated with dermal filler injections. This do not involve an operation and plump the areas out reducing the depth of the lines.   Alternatively, it would be possible to perform mini facelift procedure combined with transfers of your own body fat under the lines to soften them.   This is a procedure I specialise in and then for more information about it please visit our website http://aurora-clinics.com.uk.   My preferred technique is called a MACS facelift and I think it would be best either to see you in person in the consultation or see a photo of the areas that concern you so I can give you a more exact recommendation as the best treatment for you.   You can schedule an appointment by ringing us on 01844-214362.   Alternatively, I’d be happy to give you an opinion as to the best way forward for you if you send photos of the areas that concern you to infaurora-clinics.com.uk.   Best Wishes, Yours Sincerely   Adrian Richards Consultant Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

I would like more info on the mini face lift please, prices, recovery time and whether it will work on a saggy neck?

Q. I would like more info on the mini face lift please, prices, recovery time and whether it will work on a saggy neck?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry about a possible mini facelift.   The recovery time for this procedure is approximately 10 days and at this point you should be able to go out in public with not too much bruising.   The procedure does improve the appearance of your neck to an extent but it depends on how much skin excess there is in the region.   If it is considerable of your skin particularly at the center of the neck sometimes a neck lift procedure would be better for you.   The prices of procedure starts at £ 7100 but I think it would be probably be best to see you in person or a photograph of the area to give you a more definitive answers to the best form of treatment for you.   You could schedule an appointment by ringing us on 01844-214362 or alternatively send us some photos of the areas to infoaurora-clinics.com.uk and we’d be delighted to give you a opinion as the best way forward for you.   Best Wishes, Yours Sincerely   Adrian Richards Consultant Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics
