Q. I am keen to have rhinoplasty but do not know anyone who has had this procedure. I would like to see results and ask questions for reasurance. I would also like to know of a respected surgeon and see some/talk to some clients. Thank you

A. Thank you for your inquiry.   I am not in a position to comment or discuss other surgeons practices. Q. Do they actually plan what the outcome will look like in rhinoplasty surgery and can they show you a simulation of how the enhancement will appear beforehand to get the shaping right for your face. thanks

A. Thank you for your inquiry. Yes indeed, it is possible to use photographs or even 3d images of someone’s face to simulate changes and understand the implications in the context of the facial features. Bear in mind though that the results of surgery are never identical to the simulation. The value of the simulation is primarily to establish a clear plan and avoid misrepresentations and miscommunications.

Q. Hello, I am an 18 year old living and working in London. For many years I have wanted to have rhinoplasty. I have a sort of “aquiline” nose- very large bridge and bulbous tip which I hope can be reduced. Q. I am a 22 year old female. About 2 years ago I had open rhinoplasty surgery at Harley Street which I am not happy with. If anything I think I am more self conscious now! Is it possible to make subtle amendments, (particularly correcting the tip of the nose which point up and my nostrils looked flared? Please let me know what experience you have of secondary rhinoplasty?

Thank you for your inquiry.   Approximately 30% of the rhinoplasty surgery that I do  represents secondary or tertiary procedures.   It is indeed possible to operate discrete changes to the nose, and the best way to evaluate the degree of change or correction that you want to achieve, is to use a computer stimulation in 2-D or 3-D.  Even so however, the result of the surgery will not be identical to the simulated image.
