I have Tubular Breast Deformaty

Filed under: Breast Surgery,Expert Answers,Mr Adrian Richards — Tags: breast deformity, dibetis, NHS, surgery, Tubular Breast Deformaty — admin @ 12:04 pm

Q. I have Tubular Breast Deformaty, i was going to go private and they called me up because they wanted to no if ma dibetis was under control, i was shocked as i found out 5 months ago they wanted me to have good control, i went to the doctor and he told me to get my money back as he was writing a letter to see if the NHS would do it. I have been really depressed and also i was gong to get my self in to alot of dept i am not a A cup and my confidence has really went down. I am emotionally and phisically hurt because of this deformaty. What are the chances of the NHS doing it? Marie Barr

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it’s ceftainly is possible to perform a corretion on achieved breast deformity even though you are diabetic.   However, we would need to see you before surgery to really go through what’s involved and for you to select the best type of implant for you. This consultation will show you a number of different sizes and shapes of implants which you would try under different clothes that you would bring in. This will give you the best possible idea of how your bust will appear following surgery.   l would also be out to discuss the best way of proceeding with surgery with your diabetes but normally it is possible to perform surgery with people who has issue with diabetes.   If you would like to schedule a consultation please do so by ringing 01844-214362 and we’d be delighted to see you to discuss the best way forward for you.   In some regions the NHS do perform this type of surgery and its sounds like you’ll be a very good candidate for this.   I think it would be worthwhile scheduling a consultation with your GP to discuss whether it would be possible in your region.   Many thanks for your enquiry, I do look forward to meeting you in person if you do decide to schedule a consultation.   Best wishes, Yours sincerely   Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

I have had an appointment with the NHS about my breast as i have one breast larger than the other

Filed under: Breast Surgery,Expert Answers,Mr Shailesh Vadodaria — Tags: breast asymmetry, breast implants, breast symmetry, NHS — admin @ 7:23 am

Q. I have had an appointment with the NHS about my breast as i have one breast larger than the other. They offered to put one implant in my smaller breast but it is not guaranteed that they would match and i didn’t want that, what could you do in this situation for me?

A. Thank you for your email. It is very difficult to achieve 100 % symmetry in such situation. You need to have realistic expectation following such procedures. You will get free treatment for correction of breast asymmetry on NHS. I have following suggestions for you: 1) Please send me good quality photos for my initial comments. 2) You may wish to arrange a detailed consultation to allow me to examine you and give my opinion. 3) Please visit our website: www.vadodariaplasticsurgery.com (breast, photo gallery and price guide) to allow you to develop better insight into the procedure. Please contact my office on 0208 997 3976 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm or by email on info@vadodariaplasticsurgery.com for further guidance. I want to have a tummy tuck and also a breast reduction

Filed under: Breast Reduction,Breast Surgery,Expert Answers,Mr Lucian Ion,Tummy Tuck — Tags: abdominoplasty, Breast Reduction, Breast Surgery, deep vein thrombosis, NHS, Tummy Tuck — admin @ 1:22 am

Q. I want to have a tummy tuck and also a breast reduction. The NHS will pay for the breast surgery if I lose 2 stone. I appreciate I will have to lose the weight but the thing I want to ask is can these ops be done at the same time?

A. Thank you for your inquiry. Technically, the surgery can be carried out at the same time, but it is well documented that combining abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and other surgeries increases the risk of DVT (deep vein thrombosis).  For this reason, it may be safer to separate the two interventions.

I have been referred to a weight loss hospital i have researed and i am considering a gastric bypass

Q. I have been referred to a weight loss hospital i have researed and i am considering a gastric bypass i would like to know what my chances are of getting the funding for this operation i am roughly 20 stone have had a weight problem all my life i am 38 years old and have tried every diet plan exercise and have lost considerable amounts of weight but put it all back on plus more i live in the brent borough and i am not sure what the pct criteria is for the funding i am going to see a consultant i 3 weeks time what can i expect from my first meeting and how long will it take on average for a decision and a possible surgery date i would appreciate any information you can give me i will be going to charing cross.

A. Hi – I’m not sure what the situation is like in the NHS for NHS gastric bypass surgery, but weight loss treatments start with diet and exercise and end with surgery. After the weight loss, then you may want to consider body contouring plastic surgery and that’s where a local plastic surgeon will come in to your care. I don’t know too much about gastric banding, balloons and bypasses but there are pros and cons to each. Good luck with your consultation

Is gynaecomastia treatment available on the NHS if not could you please tell me how much you charge for male breast reduction ?

Filed under: Expert Answers,Male Breast Reduction,Mr Adrian Richards — Tags: gynaecomastia treatment, Male Breast Reduction, NHS, Vaser liposuction — admin @ 1:40 am

Q. Is gynaecomastia treatment available on the NHS if not could you please tell me how much you charge for male breast reduction ?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry. The answer is yes. Gynecomastia treatment is normally available on the NHS but this really depends on the region you live in and the local regulations.I think it would be worthwhile talking to your GP to discuss whether this treatment would be available to you.If it is not available and treatment our costs start at approximately 2000 pounds and would involve a Vaser liposuction. This is the most effective way of treating excessive male breast tissue. If you have no luck yet with your GP in NHS, I would be more than happy to see you for a free consultation and you could schedule this by ringing 01844-214362.Many thanks for your enquiry. I look forward to seeing you in the near future if you do decide to proceed with an appointment. Best wishes. I need help deciding what procedure is best for me

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery,Expert Answers,Mr Lucian Ion — Tags: Health Authority, NHS, NHS pay for treatment, remove the loose skin — admin @ 11:30 am

Q. Hiya. I need help deciding what procedure is best for me I used to weigh 24 stones last year and since then have lost my weight by half and now weigh 12st. I am 19 years and havent suffered from any medical conditions in the last 2 years have started to develop loose skin on my thighs, chest and stomach and the more weight I lose the more loose skin I have. How much is surgery to remove the loose skin and will NHS pay for treatment.,

A. Thank you for your inquiry.   The best approach would be for you to discuss with your GP who can refer you to plastic surgery service.   For NHS treatments, this type of intervention requires preliminary approval for funding from your local Health Authority.    If they approve the funding, then the surgery can be carried out at no cost to you.

Q. Im 15 and im intrested in otoplasty. as im below 16 is the surgery payed for by the NHS ?

A. If the NHS does your surgery you can’t go and see a doctor privately and ask to have it paid for by the NHS. if you see a doctor privately, you have to pay them directly. If you see the NHS then the NHS may do it themselves or they may have someone else do it for them but they control what happens, I’m afraid.
