Q. I am a 25 year old student who has lost a lot of weight post pregnancy and as a result has been left with a lot of excess skin on my tummy and extremely saggy breasts. I have been recommended surgery by my gp but they wont do it on the NHS. It is affecting my life everyday, I cant hold down a relationship because of it. I am emailing as many hospitals as possible in search of a trade for before and after photos (or another suggestion) for surgery as I simply can’t afford it at this time in life. I know my chances are extremely slim but I have run out of ideas. Thank you for listening
A. congratulations on losing so much weight. However, surgery to uplift the breasts and remove the excess tummy skin is quite a major undertaking. I don’t know anyone who does that either – sorry. I know it’s impossible to get surgery on the NHS for this, as I work in the NHS as a consultant and I can’t remember the last time I did such an operation on the NHS.
