Q. Im 46 years old and would like to look at having a face and neck lift at the same time. I had breast surgery 3 years ago and I am very happy with the results. I have a good figure but it does not match my face. What can I do?
A. Hi there. We have a lot of options for people in their mid 40s including non surgical treatments as well as surgery. There are treatments such as fillers, botox, thread lifts, vaser lipo for the neck, mini lifts and full lifts. We can go through various options together and come up with a treatment plan that best suits your aims, recovery time and budget, at a consultation. If you would like to see me then please come along for a consultation and you can book one by calling 01415520828

Q. I was looking into rhinoplasty surgery for the tip of my nose and read on this site that dermal fillers can be used in nose reshaping, is this correct?
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, yes you are right that non-surgical treatment can be used for the nose and it’s mainly to define the bridge of the nose. Non-surgical treatments cannot be used for all areas of the nose and I think it would be worthwhile having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.com.uk where you’ll get better information about what is involved in the procedure and what can be achieved. Following that if you feel you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you with one of our nose specialists please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

Q. Can eye bags and fat be removed without the need for blepharoplasty surgery? What else can be done that is non invasive?
A. Fat herniation in the lower lids causes bulging (bags) and stretching of the skin. Both components usually need to be corrected (although not always) and this usually involves surgery. Fat can be removed or redraped and skin excess can be trimmed. A variety or serums and non-surgical treatments (eg. Indiba) can improve lower lid appearance too. Q. I have quite a deep scar on my lip from an accident five years ago when I was working with a piece of wire. I would like to look at the possibility of having my lip treated in some way to hide the appearance of the scar as it looks quite deep even now. What treatments could you advise or are available for this please?
A. Hi there. For scar revision surgery we have a number of options including surgery, laser treatment, and other non surgical treatments. With all scars we can’t take them away, but we can improve them. However, whenever we try and improve upon a scar we sometimes reduce its prominence so that you’re more comfortable with its presence.

Q. Hello, I have been having botox for many years ( I am 55 and started with non surgical treatments ie CACI in my thirties) and more recently had fillers but would like some advice regarding improving my neck (slight loosening if the skin) and the “crepy” quality of skin in the decollatage area. Botox has not worked for these areas and neither has Rio Blush – carboxy. Wondering if a sunstantial peel would be effective or go straight for a necklift? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
A. Hi there Thanks for the question. In all honesty, it is difficult to know just from the information you provide but it is quite likely that surgery is now going to be the best option. I would like to see you in person to discuss this further please. Phone Janine or Kim in the office on 0845 2600 261 or email help@paulebanwell.com cheerio Paul Banwell www.skininstituteuk.com

Q. Hello, I am 60 years old and have jowls and wrinkles on my cheeks. I do not want to look forty just want wrinkles and jowls to go. I cannot and do not want a full facelift Would there be a chance I could have a lower facelift and what approx cost am I looking at.
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it does sounds as if you may benefit from a lower facelift and this is certainly possible. The other main option is non-surgical treatments in which these areas are treated with dermal fillers. These are natural body gels which is used to plump out the lines of the lower part of the face reducing wrinkles in this area. The advantage of non-surgical treatment are that they do not involve an operation, have minimum down time and are less expensive than surgery. I think it might be worthwhile having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk to get more ideas of the different options available to you. On the website you will find the videos discussing the pros and cons of each type of treatment and if you’re not too squeamish videos of myself performing facelift procedures. If you feel you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362 or emailing us at info@aurora-clinics.co.uk. Q. Im 52 years old and have a bad amount of sagging in the lower half of my face. A beautician recommended some sessions with the dermaroller which would micro needle the problem area of my face. I would feel much more confident if I was to have this treatment with a trained cosmetic surgeon. Please could you advise the cost of the treatment and whereabouts I would need to have if I decided to go ahead?
A. Hi there. I do dermaroller treatments and you’re very welcome to have this done at my clinic. I can do this for you or my nurse can do this for you – whichever you prefer. Please call 0141-552 0828 and book an appointment to see me and we can take it from there. First, I would like to see you as I can recommend non surgical treatments as well as surgical treatments. I would like you to tell me what it is you don’t like about yourself and what you’re hoping to achieve. I can then examine you and tell you what treatments would be best for you. Because I do non surgical treatments as well as surgical treatments I can advise you of what I think is in your best interests. If you would like to come to my clinic for a mini consultation at one of our open evenings, then the next one is on October 18th and you’d be welcome to come and simply find out more information.

Q. Im only 30 and my enquiry is about problems with wrinkles. I don’t want to get surgery as yet as I feel I am too young but I would like a temporary fix for the wrinkles. Im really unhappy about the way the skin around my chin has started to look loose and droopy – I wouldnt exactly say Ive got jowls, but I know thats what they will become because I saw it happen to my mum!
A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it certainly does sounds as if you maybe suitable for non-surgical treatments. By this mean, which do not involve surgery which is used to improve of the face and reduce wrinkles. You’ll be able to find the information on the procedures on our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk and if you would like to schedule a free consultation to discuss the best way forward for you please ring us on 01844-214362 to schedule a free consultation. Q. Dear Mr. Richards, I am one of the maxillofacial sprs currently on the london rotation presently at UCH. I have an interest in facial plastics and currently perform non surgical treatments in the private sector when not fulfilling my NHS committment. Do you run any courses on the thread lift under Local. Is there any scope for trainees to observe/assist in the facial procedures ( even for a fee as it can be considered as a course for myself to progress with training ). I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Mr. Kassam
A. Dear Mr. Kassam, Thank you very much for your enquiry, unfortunately we do not run any courses at the moment on the thread lifts as I find this quite unpredictable procedure and for this reason I do not recommend it. I do run a course teaching non-surgical treatments called cosmeticcourses.co.uk and please have a look at the website to get more information about this. If you do attend a cosmetic course and would like to come along to see some surgical procedures it would certainly be possible to do so. Thank you for your enquiry and with best luck with the rest of your training. Best Wishes, Yours sincerely Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, Aurora Clinics

Q. I was wondering how old you have to be to get a mole removed. Are you allowed to get it removed if your under the age of 16 ? Also if your under age for the non-surgical treatments then is it possible to get a treatment with your parents permission. And I also wanted to know roughly how much its going to cost ? Thank You, Raham Rana
A. Thank you fo your email. Your parents permission and presence is essential for an initial consultation as well as treatment. It is very likely that your G.P will be able to help you get your mole removed within NHS umbrella. Please contact my office on 0208 997 3976 between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm or by email on info@vadodariaplasticsurgery.com for further guidance.
