I had otoplasty in december 09 to set back my ears
Q. hi i had otoplasty in december 09 to set back my ears it was only the tops that stuck out one a little more than the other, it had been bothering me for years. i had my bandages of 10days later, to find the right ear had came back out to its original postion and my left ear looks very unnatrual in shape my middle part is pulled in more than the rest, i also underwent revision surgery for my right ear on march 3rd, again 10days later my bandage came of and again my middle is pulled to far back. im happy with how far they are from my head ( they are’nt stuck to the side of my head) i still have a space between my ear and head…the hospital has agreed to refer me for more surgery but im very scared as its all been a nightmare of a experience…i also wonder if i have suffered more pain because of the slight overcorrection. I have a appointment to see my own gp on monday as im so depressed. all i wanted was my ears set back a bit and i’ve ended up with different shaped ears from front veiw the middle of the rim looks like its missing if that makes sense? is this something that can be put right if im in the right hands?? i feel so lost and alone right now .
A. Thank you for your enquiry It is possible to have your ears corrected and I would suggest you contact a Surgeon called Mr David Gault to discuss this. He is recognised as the leading expert on ears in the UK and I am sure he will be able to help you. You wil be able to find his details with a Google search. I wish you the best of luck with this.
