I wanted to get guide prices to have my acne done?

Q. Hello doctor Wanted to get guide prices to have my acne done? What is best treatment for this? How much does it cost?

A. There are a few treatments available for acne scarring, but just about all of them need repeating. We offer lasers and dermarollers for acne scarring. The prices depend on what you have and are available for you to have a look at on line at www.labelleforme.co.uk. The dermaroller needs about 3-5 treatments and costs £199 each time and the laser is a little deeper and so the recovery time is a little longer and costs around £1000

I would like to clear up the blemishes on my face

Q. Hi I would love to clear up and correct the recent appearance of blemishes on my face? Some are red are some are brown in colour? What can be done?

A. For the red marks, it would be useful to the scars with a dermatologist and clarify whether there is rosacea which needs its special treatments, or just enlarged blood vessels under the skin.  For the latter, intense pulse light (IPL) treatments as well as vascular laser treatments are appropriate. For the brow marks, typically important to bear in mind that regular sun protection whether you are abroad or in the UK, is the mainstay for minimising their appearance and reducing new ones for coming.  The treatment can take the form either of Fraxel laser, chemical peels, and sometimes just the Obagi protocols.

Looking for a treatment for reducing my uneven skin pigmentation

Q. I am looking for a treatment for reducing my uneven skin pigmentation? What are the best treatments for this and how much do they cost?

A. Treatment or uneven skin pigmentation depend very much on the type of skin. The Obagi protocols are a good starting point for skin preparation as well as a significant degree of improvement.  For more extensive correction Fraxel laser and chemical peels may be the next step.In general a course of treatment with the Obagi protocols costs approximately £350, and a chemical peel approximately £1000.  Fraxel laser treatments are more expensive, and you usually need towards three treatments to achieve improvement, in particular if you pigmentation is more substantial.  They do have the advantage of relatively minimal downtime compared to the chemical peels, but the overall net effect is relatively similar.

What can be done i have had bad acne and now scars?

Q. I have had bad acne for as long as i can remember and it has left my skin with pot holes. What can be done to make them less obvious and how much does it cost

A. there are a couple of options for acne scarring – one is laser and the other is the dermaroller. We offer both at my clinic (though the dermaroller is being introduced in about 10 days) and you can have a consultation with me to discuss your options if you would like. The laser treatment is around £1000 adnd the dermaroller is around £300 but you will need to buy home kits as well

I have heard of dermabrasion would make me look younger?

Q. I have smoked all my life and gave up last year but my skins is in a very very bad way. I looked very wrinkly and although i am only 57 look more like 77. I have heard of dermabrasion do you think this would help make me look younger?

A. there are several options to make your skin look better. You can have creams, dermabrasion, laser therapy, microdermabrasion and chemical peels. What we recommend depends on how bad your skin is and what recovery time you’re willing to accept. As I say, though, there’s a lot we can do to help you and if you want to come and see us for a quick chat and consultation then please feel free to call us or pop in and see us

What are the different types of chemical peel?

Q. What are the different types of chemical peel and how does the whole process work would it all be done at once. Can i come for consultation and then have treatment done right after? How much does it cost for the peel and do you have any specific skincare products i must buy?

A. Thank you for your enquiry.Generally chemical peels work by removing the top layers of skin from your skin.  In youthful skin the top layers are relatively moist where as in slightly older skin they tend to be drier.  By removing tese layers the skin looks more youthful.Recently there has been another treatment called Dermaroller which has proved very effective.  This acts by micro needles in the skin  which stimulate your skin to thicken and become more youthful. It would be advisable for you to call and speak to one of our patient advisors on 08707 606 555 to discuss your options further.

Kind regards

I think my face needs a complete makeover but dont want surgery

Q. I think my face need a complete makeover as i am really starting to show he signs of my age i have wrinkles all around my eyes, forehead and mouth and my skin is looking very tired and lifeless. I am 45 years old and dont really want cosmetic surgery but wondered what other treatments you could give me.

A. Alternatives to surgical rejuvenation of the face include skin treatments that can improve the appearance both in terms of texture and colour, volume restoration either using injectable fillers or fat transfer by itself or enhanced with stem cells. For the skin treatments the most common ones are lasers and chemical peels, and for the lines around the eyes it is possible to improve things also with wrinkle relaxing injections.Other important factors include sun protection and for smokers stopping smoking.  Sun damage and smoking-related skin ageing significant contributions to the duller appearance of the skin, and will also reduce the effectiveness of any rejuvenation treatment.  There is much to be said about the value of a healthy lifestyle in achieving aesthetic improvement.
