Q. I have a tattoo that measures approx 3cm squared. I want to have it removed with laser surgery but would like an idea of how many treatments I will need until the tattoo is removed. I realise you may not be abkle to be exact but im try to work out how much the whiole thing is going to cost me before I book a consultation. Thanks for your help. Lewis

A. Dear Lewis, Thank you very much for your enquiry about possible tattoo removal. I do not specialize in laser and tattoo removal but from my knowledge of it the laser tends to reduce the color in the tattoo but it is likely you will have some residue marking in the region. Generally you need more than one laser session to reduce the pigment. I would suggest that it would probably be best to schedule a consultation with a laser tattoo removal specialist and discuss exactly how many treatments they would recommend that you would need to remove your tattoo. Q. I hava a 2 inch tattoo of a rose on my arm that I would really like removed, can tattoos that are red and green be removed? I have heard that they are difficult and approximately how much would this cost and how many sessions would you say I would need? Many thanks for your time.

A. Thank you for your inquiry. I do not have experience with laser treatments for removal of tattoos, so I suggest that you identify someone specializing in the field.

Q. Can you remove tattoos using Dermabraison treatments. I have a tattoo on the inside of my lower left arm which measures about 2 inches and I read that you can remove the tattoo using this kind of treatment. I ask you especially as I live nr Glasgow and would prefer to have treatment close to home if I can. Mandy

A. dermabrasion doesn’t remove tattoos unfortunately, as the pigment usually lies quite deep with a tattoo. The treatments we offer are surgery and a laser and I can see you for a mini consultation to tell you more about surgery if you want to come to my next open evening on July 21st

Q. I have a small tattoo on my foot which I am looking to have excised, how do I go about arranging the procedure and will it be possibly on such a bony prominence?

A. Thank you for the additional information.   If you I looking at removing a tattoo from an area that has some skin laxity and therefore the wound generated can be closed directly, the cost is around £800.   If the procedure is more complex and involves  a skin graft or local flap in order to close the wound because of the specific area, there costs would be higher, but I would need to examine your in order to be able to give you more details.

Q. Hi there, I have a tattoo on the back of my neck. It is quite similar to the batman logo. It is about 4 inches long and upto 2 inches in height. I am looking to have this tattoo removed. Would it be possible for an estimated guess on a price for this? If not is there someone i can go to or see so i can have a quote? Regards

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, it’s certainly is possible to reduce the appearance of tattoos and my advise normally is to have treatment with laser therapy initially. Q. I have a regreatable tattoo on the inside of my right arm. I feel I have well grown out of this and want to look into having it removed. Its about 4 inches long and all black. Can it be removed in one treatment or woiuld I have to come in several times?

A. You have a few options – surgery and laser. The laser treatment leaves no scar usually and needs to be repeated on several occasions. Surgery may be possible in one go and will leave a scar – whether we can do it all at once depends on how lax the skin is in that area. A. Thank you for your email. I only perform surgical removal of tatoos. Tatoos can be also removed by laser treatment. I do not do Laser tattoo removal.
