I am interested in particular with the the risks associated with getting tummy tuck surgery?

Filed under: Abdominoplasty,Expert Answers,Mr Adrian Richards,Tummy Tuck — Tags: tummy tuck surgery — admin @ 12:26 pm

Q. I know that there are risks involved with any surgery. I am interested in particular with the the risks associated with getting tummy tuck surgery? The main concern is my age as I have recently turned 54. Would this be an issue at my age?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry, tummy tuck surgery is generally relatively safe as you won’t have not any significant medical illnesses and infact I do discuss the pros and cons and dangers of the surgery in one our videos on tummy tuck surgery which can be found at  http://aurora-clinics.co.uk. And I think it would be sensible to watch this video which gives you a good insight into the pros and cons of treatment and if you feel you would like to schedule a free consultation with either myself or one of our other surgeons please do so by ringing us on 01844-214362. Many thanks for your enquiry, we do look forward to meeting you in person in the near future. Best wishes yours sincerely, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Surgical Director of Aurora Clinics

A. I would go back to your surgeon to explain these feelings and just to check all is well Paul Banwell www.skininstituteuk.com 0845 2600 261

I would like to flatten my tummy area but it is certainly not drastic enough that I need tummy tuck surgery

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr LeRoux Fourie,Tummy Tuck — Tags: BAAPS registered plastic surgeon, flatten my tummy, mini tummy tuck?, reputable plastic surgeon, Rodial Stomach Flattening Lotion Work, tummy tuck surgery — admin @ 12:06 pm

Q. I would like to flatten my tummy area but it is certainly not drastic enough that I need tummy tuck surgery, maybe liposuction. My question to you is about Rodial Stomach Flattening Lotion Work?? Im really curious how a lotion can take inches off my stomach. It sound like a gimmick but costs £100 pounds. Have you ever come across this before in your work? Regards

A. You get what you pay for? I have never heard of this cream and doubt very much if a cream would substitute liposuction and or a mini tummy tuck.Arrange a consultation with a BAAPS registered plastic surgeon. I would advise that you make certain you see the surgeon personally as many clinics offer a free consultation but this is with a nurse or a surgery advisor. A reputable plastic surgeon will give you an honest assesment and the consultatio fee is worth it to get an expert opinionRegardsLeRoux Fouriewww.lerouxfourie.co.uk

Is it true if i have a protruding lower tummy where the loose skin and fat is under my belly button i may be able to just have a MINI tummy tuck?

Q. Hi there. Is it true if i have a protruding lower tummy where the loose skin and fat is under my belly button i may be able to just have a MINI tummy tuck? also if i had a mini tummy tuck do they still stitch the muscles back together inside so i would have a flat tummy? would the scar be shorter also ie: not hip to hip? how can i find a surgeon who specialises in tummy tuck scarring ie the scar is minimum etc? kind regards

A. Dear Janine, Thank you very much for your enquiry regarding a possible tummy tuck surgery. The scarring in a full tummy tuck or a mini tummy tuck is actually quite similar and the best approach for you really depends on how much excess tissue you have in your lower abdominal area. I think it would be more worthwhile having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk where you’ll find lots of information about tummy tuck procedures and if you’re not too squeamish videos of myself actually performing the operation. If you feel following this you feel you would like to schedule a consultation to discuss the best way forward for you personally please ring us on 01844-214362 we’ll be delighted to discuss the best way forward for you. Ive been doing some investigations about tummy tuck surgery and buttock augmentation

Filed under: Buttock Surgery,Expert Answers,Mr Taimur Shoaib,Tummy Tuck — Tags: buttock augmentations, buttock implants, tummy tuck surgery, tummy tuck surgery and buttock augmentation — admin @ 7:29 am

Q. Ive been doing some investigations about tummy tuck surgery and buttock augmentation. Ive read several sites who offer answers from surgeons about different subjects. One wesite in particular stated three different answers from three surgeons whether it would be better to have both surgeries at the same time for the best results. These were US websites and I would like an honest opinion from a UK surgeon. Could you offer one please, im really quite confused now? Tara

A. I don’t really do buttock augmentations because the implants are quite mobile and when people sit down the implants sometimes flip sideways and it looks a little unnatural. So, I’m afraid I don’t do buttock implants to help you with an answer.

This may sound silly but what concerns me most is the fact I can only sleep on my stomach and I dont think this will be possible after tummy tuck surgery

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Adrian Richards,Tummy Tuck — Tags: Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, planning on a tummy tuck, tummy tuck surgery — admin @ 10:54 am

Q. I am planning on a tummy tuck sometime in the next few months. This may sound silly but what concerns me most is the fact I can only sleep on my stomach and I dont think this will be possible after surgery. How long would this likely last post operation please, or is there a garment I could wear to let me sleep on my front?

A. Thank you very much for your enquiry. Following a tummy tuck surgery, most people do sleep on their back or side for the first few weeks. However, I would anticipate that you would be able to sleep on your tummy within 3 weeks of surgery. By this time, most of the swelling and tenderness in the area will have dissipated, and I think most people would be fine to sleep in any position by that period. If you would like more information about tummy tuck surgery, please take time having a look at our website http://aurora-clinics.co.uk where you will find numerous videos discussing the pros and cons of this form of surgery, and also if you are not too squeamish, videos of me performing the surgery itself. If you would like to schedule a free consultation, please ring us on 01844-214362. Many thanks for your enquiry. We do look forward to meeting you in the near future should you decide to schedule a consultation. The skin around my stomach has stretch marks and is very loose and looks like it folds at the bottom

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Adrian Richards,Stretch Marks,Tummy Tuck — Tags: abdominoplasty surgery, Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, skin around my stomach has stretch marks, tummy tuck surgery — admin @ 9:24 am

Q. Good Morning. My name is Abby I have been overweight ever since I was a young and my weight has yoyo’d over the years due to a mix of crash diets, exercise and lack of exercise. The skin around my stomach has stretch marks and is very loose and looks like it folds at the bottom. I am now 12st 10lbs but am only 5ft 5 in height and attempting to get down to 9 or 10st which I have managed before so I am able to get the very best out of abdominoplasty surgery. What I would like to ask is what happens if I continue to lose weight after the operation. Am I risking more loose skin and undoing all the good work the surgeon may do?

A. Dear Abby, Thank you very much for your enquiry which is very sensible. With tummy tuck surgery I normally advice people that it’s best to get down to a stable weight which you feel is maintainable for you. The problems do come if you do lose weight following a tummy tuck which can lead to excess skin. Therefore, the best thing to do is to diet sensibly, get down to a stable weight which you’re happy with and consider this surgery at that stage. You’re obviously thinking seriously about this surgery and well done for thinking so quite clearly about what is best for you. I wish you the best of luck with the losing the weight and if you do decide to go ahead with surgery. Best Wishes, Yours sincerely Adrian Richards Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon Consultant, Aurora Clinics

I had kids recently and lost lots of weight after giving birth and now have lots of loose skin which does not look right as I weigh 120 lbs

Filed under: Expert Answers,Mr Taimur Shoaib,Tummy Tuck — Tags: tummy tuck surgery — admin @ 10:12 am

Q. I had kids recently and lost lots of weight after giving birth and now have lots of loose skin which does not look right as I weigh 120 lbs. Is a tummy tuck my only option here to get my stomach back to something like it was before kids? I have to say I am very apprihensive of major surgery but I also dont want to carry on looking like I do.

A. You’re right in that tummy tuck surgery is associated with quite a long recovery – in the order of a few weeks before getting back to all your normal activities and several months before you see the final results. So, if you do find yourself having a specific time period free, then please do give me plenty of notice (if you’re planning on coming to see me) for your surgery date, as I can sometimes be booked for a few weeks ahead.
