Q. Just what procedures are part of a full face lift? I know eyelid surgery is often part of it, but what other procedures are typically done during a full face lift? How long is a patient typically “out” during surgery?

A full facelift usually means ” Face Rejuvenation Surgery” – this typically involves a combination of procedures which include – Browlift, Upper and Lower eyelid surgery, Lower facelift and Neck lift. Some patients will require fat grafting to restore volume in the cheeks, chin and brow / temple areas. A skin peel may also be required to achieve a truly rejuvenated face. Q. I want to remove the baggy look from around my eyes by having upper and lower eyelid surgery. I suffer from glaucoma and wanted to check if this would cause me any complication having this surgery. Thank you
A. Thank you for your inquiry. Glaucoma is not an absolute contraindication to surgery for blepharoplasty. I would however advise you to have the treatment carried out by an ophthalmic oculoplastic surgeon who can also supervise your glaucoma.

Q. I would like to have cheek implant surgery combined with upper and lower eyelid surgery and wondered if this was possible and how much it would cost? I have been suggested to contact yourself by a friend you treated several months ago. Would you be able to do both the operations?
A. Thank you for your inquiry. I have some reservations regarding the combination of lower eyelid blepharoplasty and cheek implants in this same intervention, unless the blepharoplasty is transconjuctival, and therefore no skin is removed. It would be advantageous to have a consultation using 3-D photography and simulation, in order to understand better your targets for change. With the lower eyelid blepharoplasty, I commonly do a degree of cheek lifting, which tends to add volume to the cheek mound. Q. I have one upper eyelid that droops down a little. I have had it for probably 15 years and it has got very very slightly worse. I had conjunctivitis where my eyelids went all puffy and one of them never quite got back to its original position. My doctor says either the nerve or muscle must have been slightly damaged and plastic surgery could help correct it. All I need is for the one eyelid to be lifted a little bit and I wondered (approximately) what price range this would be in.
