Which are safer saline or silicone implants?
Q. Hi Can you tell me which are safer saline or silicone implants. They used to be so much bad press about breast implants that i want to make sure i do not take any risks?
A. Thank you for your enquiry. At present, we consider the saline and silicone implants and equally safe, following extensive research that has gone into breast augmentation treatments. With regards to not taking any risks, I’m afraid that no option for surgical treatments of any type can enter the category of zero risk. There are extensive risks related to breast augmentation surgery, and part of the consultation is to explain and to some extent quantify the level of risk for individual options, to allow you to make a balanced decision. The only zero risk option remains however not to have surgery.
