Would the fact i have had a caesarean prevent me from having a tummy tuck?

Q. I have had four babies that were all born by caesarean and although I am doing my best to get rid of the excess weight I’ve noticed its left me with a rather ugly looking overhang and despite using the gym almost daily nothing seems to improve it. Would the fact i have had a caesarean prevent me from having a tummy tuck or make the procedure riskier?

A. Hi there. caesarian sections often do cause scar tethering and an overhang and that’s one of the common reasons for us doing a tummy tuck. So, rather than preventing you from having one it may well be contributing to the reason you’re seeking improvement in your abdomen! It’s one of the common things that we do in people with caesarians.
