Cosmetic Surgery For Tight Shoes

They have the Cinderella Procedure that narrows the feet and prevents bunions. There is the Perfect 10 Aesthetic Toe Shortening procedure that will trim any toes that hang over the edge of sandles or are crushed by tight shoes. Or the Foot Tuck Fat Pad Augmentation that takes fat from the patients stomach and adds it to the balls of the feet to provide additional cushion and comfort while wearing high heels.

The clinics founder, Ali Sadrieh, feels that telling women not to wear high heels is unrealistic. Instead he created treatments that help women function without pain and discomfort.

However, these procedures have created outrage from orthopedic foot surgeons. One surgeon, Donald R. Bohay works from Grand Rapids, Michigan, stated that shortening toes to make them fit into shoes is not typical of a doctor’s office care. Along with Dr. Bohay, the American Podiatric Medical Association agrees. As Kathleen Stone, Glendale, Arizona has stated, that the function of a podiatrist is to reduce pain and correct deformities. They are not there to help men and women wear smaller shoes.

Blame it on shows such as Sex In The City that started in 1998. There are no specific statistics on the number of foot surgeries that have occurred since the show came out, however since the show has started there has been a steady rise in foot surgeries and they are not slowing down either.

Although foot surgeons are warning against these types of surgeries, no one is listening. A public relations woman in Manhattan believes that women want to have the operations and will as their are more efficient ways. She feels that it will be as common as having a nose job done. She looks forward to when she can have bunion surgery completed and have pretty feet that no longer hurt.

However, many doctors feel that surgeries should be used to remove pain and deformities from the foot. This is an argument that has caused problems between many doctors. While doctors doing these procedures feel they are stopping the pain and deformities before they happen. There are doctors who will not help patients who want surgeries only for cosmetic reasons or who are looking at extreme measures, such as toe amputation to fit into shoes.

Teenage Botox and Plastic Surgery Rising

With so many adults now a days using cosmetic surgery to change themselves, teens are now looking to use cosmetic surgery as well. This is a huge societal problem.

This is what many doctors and medical professionals are now seeing in many of the cosmetic surgery clinics and botox offices. Teenagers, some as young as 13 years old, are already have procedures done to remove and reduce facial lines and and wrinkles. By 2009 there were 12,000 botox injections completed on children that were between the ages of 13 and 19.

Botox has advantages when it comes to the cost of the procedure. Botox is around £200 for the injections, compared to 1,000′s of pounds for plastic surgery treatments.

One reason there has been an increase in plastic surgery and botox injections in teens may be due to prominent figures that are in media, as well as older actors and actresses that are having these treatments done. Many of these people opt for these procedures to be able to compete with their younger counter parts for movie roles and TV spots.

Recently, The Today Show featured an episode on teenage plastic surgery. During the show arguments posed that plastic surgery is nothing more than receiving braces or having similar procedures done. Orthodontists do not question whether peer pressure is determining the need for braces. However, plastic surgery is different and peer pressure can become too much for a teen. They end up only seeing their nose, ears or breasts and that can lower their self esteem according to surgeons and teens.

There are plastic surgeons that opt to send potential patients to therapy first, before undertaking a procedure. This can give a teenager the chance to talk about why they want the procedure done in the first place. One such reason has been to look like a certain actor or actress. A therapy session can also allow the doctor to determine the teenagers maturity in making the decision to have plastic surgery completed in the first place. Cases where a large breasted girl has problems in sports and backaches from her large breasts, may have a legitimate reason for the surgery. While, some doctors who see patients under 15 that want to enlarge their breasts they will turn away for the surgery.

Vaginal Rejuvenation Guide For Women

Most vaginal rejuvenation surgeries are done for medical reasons. However, there are benefits that can improve a womens sex life as well. Many women want to enhance their genital areas and increase sexual stimulation. There are numerous options with these procedures and reasons to have them done.

Child birth is one reason many women look to vaginal rejuvenation. Many have incontinence, which means urinating whenever coughing, laughing, sneezing or similar activities take place. Vaginal rejuvenation tightens the muscles that allow this to occur. Child birth also stretch and deforms this area. There are two types of procedures for vaginal rejuvenation, which are labiaplasty and vaginoplasty.

Labiaplasty consists of a doctor having to reshape the lips of the vagina. The reshaping can improve how the vagina looks and eshaping can improve how the vagina looks. This procedure can be done on women who have large labia and there is pain and discomfort from the size. Small pieces of the inner genital lips are removed, as well as the outer lips.

Vaginoplasty is when a doctor uses a larger or surgical procedure to tighten the muscles that are inside the vagina. The muscles are moved and tightened, which results in tighter vaginal walls and more control over contractions and muscles. Usually done as an out patient procedure, some cases do require that a woman stay over night. Insurance may cover this type of procedure when connected to incontinence.

Although this are the two most common procedures, there are other procedures done to correct vaginal problems.

Hymenoplasty, other wise known as revirginization, is when the hymen is reconnected to the vagina. This can be done to make a vagina look younger or for religious purposes.

Hoodectomies are when the g-spot of a women is increased. This procedure requires removing the hood of the clitoris or reducing it greatly. The clitoris is then completely exposed and collagen is injected into the g-spot as well. Sexual satisfaction is increased but only for 3 months. The procedure must be done again and again.

Patients must talk with a doctor first before any of these procedures. Also, the surgeries can range in price from $6,000 to $10,000 each. Furthermore, insurance does not cover many of these procedures unless there is a medical reason for them.

Though women can still have children after having any of these procedures, having a C-section is recommended so that there is not more vaginal tearing and scarring.

Looking for Medical Information?

When surfing the web be cautious about the information found there. As a patient researching information about breasts, many times a patient will bring in everything they have read before the doctor has had a chance to look at them. This doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t research information online before, during and after a consultation with a doctor. However, many times the information can cause stress and anxiety when there should be none. One doctor had a patient research nipple discharge and Google brought up over 80 hits about the occurrence being associated with cancer However, in this patient’s case and her history that is the last thing that nipple discharge would mean.

So why did the Google results bring up cancer results? This has to do with how Google delivers page rank order in reference to the information that has been put into the search box. Also, companies that pay to be found first will be at the top of the list. So, the search displays information based not just what was typed into the search box, but more importantly who is paying for location within search results and who is not. The results have little to do with the person themselves and their actual needs. However, talking with a doctor first, means that their advice is unbiased and not based in finances.

So is information found online reliable? Many times the relevant concerns that patients have because of information they have read online, must be undone because of the numerous inaccuracies in the information. There has been studies that have looked at the accuracy and relevancy of medical information found online and the World Health Organization, WHO, has a report that addresses these issues. The report states that of the 100,000 pages that are dedicated to medical information, very little is correct or accurate. The sites have huge variances and a lot of misinformation. Part of the problem is that pharmaceutical and commercial companies sponsor sites and promote their own products or services.

Reading the WHO report highlights the numerous problems with patient information, the practice of fraud that is wide spread, dangerous claims and the exposure patients have to harm. Another report by RAND in the US is called Proceed With Caution: A Report On The Quality Of Health Information On The Internet. The WHO report shows how even correct information can cause harm because of language barriers or the wrong audience reading the material.

Patients Recover Faster After Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery is painful. It can also cause swelling, bumps and show cellulite after completion. However, there is a new treatment in London that effectively removes these problems in the very beginning.

Kensington, London is now offering a post cosmetic surgery treatment that reduces swelling and pain while they are at their worst, which is between the third day and the third week after treatment. This treatment is safe and is already being used in France, Italy and Brazil. In the case of liposuction, a patient will begin using post surgery treatments to ensure that cellulite does not become pronounced after the procedure. This treatment can also smooth the skin of bumps and lumps associated with liposuction after the surgery.

These treatments can be used after abdominoplastly, smart lipo, liposuction, vaser surgery, breast reduction and augmentations and face lifts. The post surgery treatment includes pressotherapy, ultrasounds, lymphatic drainage, radio frequency and cellulite specific massage. The equipment used, as well as the techniques used, vary depending on what the patient needs, the area that received surgery and how much has gone by after the surgery.

There is also a very concentrated anti cellulite cream that is used before the surgeries begin and after the surgery has been completed. The cream has a high content of anti inflammatories, anti oxidants and lymphatic drainage ingredients to speed the recovery process and reduce the risk of infections and cellulite problems.

With the increase of plastic surgeries in London, there has not been an increase in post cosmetic surgery care until now. Because of this care, there are many problems that are solved for patients who have cosmetic surgery done. Many patients do not realize that cellulite is enhanced and can not be removed with liposuction. Even mini liposuction does not get rid of cellulite. Many patients believe the cellulite will go away after they have had liposuction done. The post cosmetic surgery treatment will reduce water retention and speed up recovery for many patients. Once patients have seen the results of these new treatments, they many times sign up for full service treatments, to continue their healing and recovery process.

Innovative Procedure “Reverses” Aging By Transferring Stem-Cell Enhanced Fat Cells

In the many professions where client interaction is an integral part of the job, it is not uncommon for industry veterans to feel like the signs of aging on their face are impairing their ability to perform their job adequately. A number of these individuals are turning towards an innovative new procedure known as Cell Enriched Cosmetic Surgery to turn back the clock and reduce or eliminate the signs of aging.

Cell Enriched Cosmetic Surgery is a procedure where fat cells that contain stem cells are transferred to other areas of the body to add more volume under the skin in the areas where the fat cells are relocated. One common application of this procedure is to transfer the fat cells to the cheek area to reduce the effects caused by the deterioration of muscle tissue as the individual ages.

Cell Enriched Cosmetic Surgery has been approved for use and performed in many European countries for a number of years, although the number of practitioners available to perform the procedure is very small. The benefits associated with this procedure includes more volume in the area where the cells are added and longer lasting results than what is obtained with the synthetic fillers available today.

The process begins by removing fat cells from a single area or multiple areas of the body, depending on how many are needed for the procedure. These cells are then treated to induce the stem cells within them to multiply by the thousands, creating a rich, natural dermal filler that is created from the patient’s own cells.

After the stem cells located in the fat cells have replicated to the surgeon’s liking, the enriched cells are relocated to the area of the body that the surgeon is targeting, such as the face or breast. Some surgeons prefer this method of obtaining the cells for relocation because they claim that the stem cell enhanced fat cells help the tissue heal faster and will assist in substantial tissue regeneration.

Cell Enriched Cosmetic Surgery is popular among the patients that seek out the treatment because they view the cells as something natural from their own body that has been enhanced and reintroduced to the areas where it is needed. A higher volume of fat cells can be used for the procedure over more common synthetic fillers and the results of the procedure last for a longer amount of time – typically between 5 to 10 years.

The Keller Funnel Is A Simpler and Safer Way To Receive A Breast Augmentation

Every year Doctors and scientists try to come up with new ways to make breast augmentation procedures easier for both the patient and the physician. The Keller Funnel, introduced in August of 2009 and invented by Kevin Keller M.D., is a newer procedure that lets the surgeon introduce the implant through a small incision. This procedure also allows for faster healing for the patient.

The Keller Funnel allows the surgeon to install the implant without actually having to touch it. It is a cone that is lined with a special kind of lubricant called hydrophilic polymer coating. When it gets moist it gets slippery and that helps the implant to slide through the incision. The implant is placed in the cone, or funnel, and then squeezed into the breast using very little pressure. It is also suggested that getting implants using the Keller Funnel can help to prevent capsular contracture, a condition in which a hard tissue forms around the implant squeezing it and often distorting the shape. Capsular contracture can often be fixed with surgery, however, the Keller Funnel is meant to help avoid contracture from happening.

It is generally difficult for a physician to get a large implant into a small incision, like the very popular already pre-filled silicone implants. The Keller Funnel can get larger implants through the small incisoin quickly, therefore, it helps to avoid damaging or further irritating the tissue surrounding the incision. The implant can still be place above or below the breast muscle using this technique.

The entire idea behind the Keller Funnel is to make sure that the patient heals faster and has less chance of infection, that the surgeons are better able to see what they are doing and that the surgery takes less time which is good for the patient and the surgeon. Patients are able to avoid large scars and because of the no touch system there is less of a chance that foreign objects will be introduced into the body during the procedure.

Since it’s invention doctors all over the United States have began using the Keller Funnel to aid in breast augmentation. Keller Medical Inc. does state that “Because every woman is different and individual results may vary, you should speak to your surgeon about the merits of the Keller Funnel.” As with all surgeries it is best to do research before making a final decision.

Devastating Effects Of Too Much Plastic Surgery

There are numerous medical malpractice claims that can be levied against plastic surgeons. These can include breast implants, liposuction, face lifts and breast reduction as well. Patients have to consider whether or not to bring legal action against doctors that have caused sever infections, scarring, diseases, disfiguration, tissue damage and other strange results that can occur. Many times people who want to change or improve the way they look, end up facing other embarrassment, discomfort, pain, complications and numerous corrective surgeries. Not only that, but having to deal with multiple procedures and multiple failures is something to consider as well.

The thought of the “Cat Woman”, name is Jocelyn Wildenstein has become the face of too many surgeries that went wrong. However, more recently there is the experience of the British flight attendant that won a make over and now explains how plastic surgeons will go too far when not properly kept in check.

Nicole Stratton is the British flight attendant. She was chosen to be on the popular British program, Brand New You. She wanted to look better for her husband, however he did not feel this way. For the show, she received 30 hours of plastic and cosmetic surgery in Los Angeles, California in a matter of 6 weeks. Doctors changed her nose, ears, brow and breast enhancements. She also had liposuction done on her stomach, back, hips, jaw and chin. Furthermore, she had extensive dental work completed and laser eye surgery done as well. By the time all the surgeries were completed, the grand total was a quarter of a million dollars.

What first seemed like a dream come true, later was not. Since she had saline implants inserted, one ruptured and both breasts were replaced with silicone implants instead. However, later one of those was replaced due to a build up of scar tissue. Not only that, but when these occurrences took place, she had to pay to go back to California and pay the doctor’s fees. Because of these stresses, her husband and she later divorced, she left the travel industry and now works for the prison system.

Doctors need to let patients know the risks and complications that can occur from plastic surgery. A medical malpractice lawyer should be contacted when there has been drastic damages, so that the patient has legal options and the possibility of recovering the money spent.

Vaginal Reconstructive Surgery

Vaginal reconstructive surgery is becoming more popular with many women. The surgery is being done for numerous reasons, either because of child birth, medical reasons, aging, hormonal loss or congenital problems. Vaginal reconstructive surgery is a cosmetic procedure, however it has been found to help with anatomical problems as well.

However, not every women is able to have vaginal reconstructive surgery done. A woman must have the muscles in this area stretched over time for different reasons, such as child birth.

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation, also called LVR, is based off a different procedure called vaginoplasty. Vaginoplasty is used to help women who have weak vaginal muscles, which causes incontinence, and this is due from numerous child births. Incontinence will the leave the vagina with loose skin, which many times very visible. Women who have loose skin in this area, may experience incontinence every time they cough or use their muscles in this area. Using LVR to correct these problems is very non-invasive.

Previously the correction of incontinence was done by other surgeries, such as defect directed repair, posterior fascial replacement, posterior colporrhaphy, abdominal surgeries to correct the tearing and transanal repairs. However, vaginal reconstructive surgery uses lasers that are very non-invasive and removes excess skin and tightens the vagina muscles. There is far less bleeding, pain, trauma and discomfort for the woman. Usually when the procedure is done on women it is because they have had children, however women without children may still be considered when other extenuating circumstances have occurred, such as incest and rape, inherited traits, strain on the area due to chronic coughs or pressure from obesity.

For this procedure, an incision is made and the doctor uses a laser to tighten the muscles. It is an out patient procedure. The patient is awake, but has been numbed and does not feel anything. The length of time the procedure takes will vary from patient to patient, depending on the extent of damage and repair needed to be done. Once the procedure is completed there is some pain and swelling that may occur. However, the healing is done with medications and women are able to return to their daily routines and activities very shorty, usually within 2 weeks. This is a much speedier recovery, compared to 3 months with the standard repair surgery. The cost can vary between RM5,000 and upwards of RM200,000.

Cosmetic Surgery Personal Loans

Consumers now a days are using personal loans now to pay for cosmetic and medical procedures, whether needed or not. With the rise of cosmetic surgery, personal loans have become the new way to pay for procedures, whether needed or only for aesthetic reasons now.

Since there has been a rise in cosmetic surgery, even with the recession in full swing, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, also known as BAAPS, notes that procedures have exceeded 36,400 in the year 2009 alone. This means that there has been a 6.7% over all increase since 2008 alone. The largest cosmetic surgery provider in the UK, the Harley Medical Group, has seen an overall growth increase of 4% for the 2008 and 2009 fiscal years. They saw a 23% increase in abdominoplasty and a 13% increase in liposuction procedures.

They have noticed, that regardless of the recession, both non-surgical and surgical procedures are more popular than ever. Also, data from the Sainbury’s Bank shows that consumers and patients are looking at and comparing personal loans more and more to pay for these procedures and medical surgeries.

Sainbury’s Bank shows that Britons have borrowed £11.57m in personal loans last year alone. There were over 800 loans, which totaled £5m of the amount above that were used for cosmetic surgeries. The other portion, the £6.8m covered elective and medically necessary procedures, such as hip replacement. Procedures such as joint replacement is covered by the NHS, however the wait list is too long, many patients are serious pain and discomfort and many patients decide to pay the £7,000 to £9,000 themselves.

Sainbury’s Finance departed commented that although many loans are taken out for home improvements, buying cars, buying other luxury items and vacations, there is a high number of loans that are used strictly for cosmetic expenses that people feel they need.

Financial advisers note that loans should be compared when looking to cover medical and cosmetic procedures before any loan paper work is filled out. In the long run, this could save a person anywhere from hundreds to thousands of pounds in repayment fees and interest.
