Give Me A Kate Middleton Nose

Her first official portrait drew a mixed response, but Kate Middleton’s nose has topped the list of celebrity features most requested by people seeking cosmetic surgery. New figures have shown that the number of patients asking to look like the Duchess of Cambridge has trebled in the last year.

Other celebrity body parts also proved popular with patients in 2012, with Myleene Klass’s jaw line and chin and Cheryl Cole’s cheeks, admired for their dimples, among the most requested. For women seeking to change their appearance, the most requested pair of eyes were those of model Rosie-Huntington-Whitley, while the most popular lips came from X Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

The trend of taking inspiration from famous faces when considering cosmetic surgery, however, is not confined to women, as there has also been an increase in men wanting to look like celebrities. Robert Pattinson, star of the Twilight films, has the most requested chin and jaw, while Two and a Half Men actor Ashton Kutcher’s cheeks are also very popular. Also topping the wish list of desirable male celebrity features are Zac Efron’s hair and eyes, Jude Law’s nose, and Ryan Gosling’s lips.

The Transform Cosmetic Surgery Group, who have released these figures, told the Daily Mail that the number of patients asking for specific features of certain celebrities has increased dramatically, and that the trend seems to be for famous figures who are sophisticated as well as being naturally beautiful.

How To Treat Excessive Sweating

Sweating is a natural bodily process, but for some people it is a real problem. Most of us sweat now and again: when it is hot outside, when you are exercising or when you go inside to the warmth after being in the cold. However, some people sweat more often and this can cause problems in relation to confidence and self-esteem. Some people are so worried about the amount they sweat that they turn down social invitations and become withdrawn and isolated.

What can be done?

The first step is to try anti-perspirant and ensure that you wash on a regular basis. It is advisable to shower or have a bath every day, more frequently if you are exercising or prone to sweating. If standard deodorant is not working and you are worried about the amount you sweat, see your doctor. Doctors can prescribe deodorants that are much stronger than those available in chemists and supermarkets. Wearing loose clothing and avoiding man-made fibres may also help to reduce sweating.

If changing your hygiene regime and using strong deodorant does not work, another option may be Botox. Botox is usually associated with smoothing out wrinkles and fine lines, but it can actually be a very effective treatment for excessive sweating.

How does Botox work?

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) is caused by overactivity of one type of sweat gland known as the eccrine gland. Eccrine glands are found all over the body but there is a high concentration in the hands, feet and armpits. Most people who suffer from excessive sweating experience sweating in these areas.

Botox is usually recommended for those who experience excessive sweating in the armpits when other treatments have been ineffective. It can be used to treat sweating by blocking the nerve endings, which prevents signals from reaching the sweat glands and stops the secretion of sweat. Botox treatment is usually effective for up to 8 months, but new nerve endings start to form so repeat treatment will be required.

The procedure

The Botox procedure is uncomplicated and quick. A needle is inserted into the armpit and Botox is injected. Results should become evident within one week and the treatment sessions typically last 30 minutes.

Weird Hair Issues

Most of us would probably admit having done something “dramatic” to our hair… dying it purple as an identity statement in the ninth grade, chopping it off to get that fresh start you craved after he broke your heart, maybe even shaving your eyebrows just to see if it looked good. Chances are pretty good we’ve never taken “dramatic” to the lengths that these people do, though. Read on for our top 4 Weird Hair Issues from around the globe.

4. Pubic Hair Transplants
Ever thought of your down-there hair as a sign of fertility? Women in South Korea have, and for some, having too little of it is embarrassing. The solution: transplants. No, not from donors, thankfully, but from the recipient’s own scalp line. A sliver of skin is removed from the hairline along the neck and separated into pieces that contain 1-3 hair bulbs each. A laser or scalpel is implemented to make room for the tiny chunks of much-desired pili (the fancy scientific name for hair) in the desired location. The transplanted hairs are arranged in such a way as to be consistent with the pattern of typical pubic hair. With much repetition, this procedure — called micrografting — can produce quite successful results. Meaning: being pube-less doesn’t have to scar you for life. A few cuts and burns later, you can compare parts with Sasquatch and come out a winner. Ew.

3. Eyebrow Transplants
It’s not so surprising that there’s a market for this, is it? We’d expect someone who’s lost their eyebrows to disease or disastrous accident to feel a twinge of discomfort about it. They’re on your face, and… well, what more needs to be said? These make it to the list because of how tricky they end up being. Eyebrows, if you have noticed, are not quite like scalp hair… or leg hair… or pubic hair, for that matter. (Although that would make a good one for another list — eyebrows transplanted from the nether-regions. Interesting.) Scalp hair can be used, but it must be done very carefully. The transplanted hair must be placed flat back against the browline rather than at about a 45 degree angle, like it was “back home” on your head. The holes needed to make room for the new hair must be tiny, since only one hair may be placed at a time. These must be made with a fine needle rather than a scalpel. All that to say, it takes some skill to do this. Don’t let some back-alley quack try it on you, or you may end up with a little stranger over-eye growth than you bargained for.

2. Longest Ear Hair Ever
The guy that made the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest ear hair ever recorded. Everyone wants to be known for something. But did it really have to be this, Grandpa? Maybe you could have written a book instead. Oh, well. It’s still pretty cool!

1. Hairboy – China’s Aspiring Rockstar
This takes publicity stunts to a whole new level. Exploiting your body hair to get a recording label? It’s true, Yu Zhenhuan is trying to get noticed for his body hair, and musical talent too. He even has his own personal space on the Web called MaoHai, which translates to “hairboy”. There, he has posted pictures of himself. Apparently he has a condition which causes dark hair to grow over his entire body, with the exception of his hands and feet. That’s definitely different enough to get “discovered”. Will it do anything for his music? Who knows.

Miss Plastic Surgery

In a world where plastic surgery and injections are becoming more and more common by the day some countries have taken “going under the needle” to a new high by making beauty contests centered around women who have had plastic surgery to enhance their looks. Although plastic surgery is still controversial in countries around the world, few have taken steps to prevent men or women from having work done. Without restrictions women and men have gone to great lengths to achieve the “perfect” body and now they have the chance to find out who succeed in the goal of being Miss Plastic Surgery!

Miss Plastic Surgery Hungary
This event was clearly a success, Miss Plastic Surgery Hungary encouraged hundreds of women from around the country to participate in the prestigious event. Dressed in skimpy clothes the women walked the run way and were rated instantaneously using the old fashion card system. The most common procedures were breast augmentations and nose reconstructions but with the ordinary came the extraordinary, one woman had her toes adjusted for the competition. Women of all ages entered the competition but only could win the coveted prize of Miss Plastic Surgery Hungary and it went to a 22 year women. Her doctor of course also won a award, showing that plastic surgery is similar to art. The grand prize included a apartment in Budapest and numerous television appearances throughout the year.

Miss Plastic Surgery China
The very secretive nation of People’s Republic of China put their own Miss Plastic Surgery China. The week long event included best body, biggest change, and best personality. The participant pool was quite diverse with women as young as 18 and as old as 62 and even a transsexual entered the competition. Ultimately Feng Qian, age 22, won, earning about 6,000 dollars and numerous television appearances. People surrounding the competition praised the contestants, referring to them has “man made” wonders. Plastic surgery is China’s fastest growing medical field bringing in billions of dollars a year and changing women’s lives around the country. China’s Miss Plastic Surgery resembles the Miss Universe pageant making it more ligament in the eyes of outsiders.

Miss Plastic Surgery Venezuela
Unlike China and Hungary, Venezuela has not created a separate competition for the medically enhanced. Rather after years of fearing, it would creep into their coveted Miss Venezuela pageant it has. There are mix feelings about women being able to enter the competition with breast augmentations or nose reconstructions. Critics have taken the stance that having plastic surgery before the competition is unfair. However getting plastic surgery done in Venezuela is common. One source reports “plastic surgery is a common 18th birthday present.” Under immense pressure the women feel they need to do anything to get ahead of the game especially since the reining Miss Universe is from Venezuela, could this drive more women to go under the knife before entering the competition? As of today it is legal for women to have plastic surgery and participate in the Miss Venezuela pageant, will this change? Only time will tell.

Devastating Effects Of Too Much Plastic Surgery

There are numerous medical malpractice claims that can be levied against plastic surgeons. These can include breast implants, liposuction, face lifts and breast reduction as well. Patients have to consider whether or not to bring legal action against doctors that have caused sever infections, scarring, diseases, disfiguration, tissue damage and other strange results that can occur. Many times people who want to change or improve the way they look, end up facing other embarrassment, discomfort, pain, complications and numerous corrective surgeries. Not only that, but having to deal with multiple procedures and multiple failures is something to consider as well.

The thought of the “Cat Woman”, name is Jocelyn Wildenstein has become the face of too many surgeries that went wrong. However, more recently there is the experience of the British flight attendant that won a make over and now explains how plastic surgeons will go too far when not properly kept in check.

Nicole Stratton is the British flight attendant. She was chosen to be on the popular British program, Brand New You. She wanted to look better for her husband, however he did not feel this way. For the show, she received 30 hours of plastic and cosmetic surgery in Los Angeles, California in a matter of 6 weeks. Doctors changed her nose, ears, brow and breast enhancements. She also had liposuction done on her stomach, back, hips, jaw and chin. Furthermore, she had extensive dental work completed and laser eye surgery done as well. By the time all the surgeries were completed, the grand total was a quarter of a million dollars.

What first seemed like a dream come true, later was not. Since she had saline implants inserted, one ruptured and both breasts were replaced with silicone implants instead. However, later one of those was replaced due to a build up of scar tissue. Not only that, but when these occurrences took place, she had to pay to go back to California and pay the doctor’s fees. Because of these stresses, her husband and she later divorced, she left the travel industry and now works for the prison system.

Doctors need to let patients know the risks and complications that can occur from plastic surgery. A medical malpractice lawyer should be contacted when there has been drastic damages, so that the patient has legal options and the possibility of recovering the money spent.
