New Alternative To Breast Implants

Many women would like to have larger breasts, and have had very few choices of procedures to achieve this. If a woman wanted to increase her cup size then she had to get implants, whether silicon or saline. Now a new procedure has arisen that does not entail adding an implant. This system actually helps a woman to grow larger breasts. It is called the Brava System.

The Brava System, invented by Miami surgeon Dr. Roger Kjouri, is a non-surgical breast enhancement system that has been scientifically proven to work. It is constructed of two semi-rigid plastic domes that have silicone gel rims. These domes are placed over the breasts and a vacuum pressure is maintained by a small vacuum pump. The pump is battery operated and is controlled by a micro computer. It is worn under a sports bra and must be worn for a few hours a day for a few weeks.

The system works based on a principal known as tension-induced growth. The vacuum pulls on the breast tissue causing it to stretch. The stretched cells swell and promote replication so that new breast tissue grows. This procedure can be used to increase breast size substantially but it also has other uses. The procedure can also be coupled with periodic fat injections for women who have had mastectomies, and thus they can grow new breasts. Fat is taken from other parts of the body and then injected into the breasts.

Maria Eugenia Morris had a double mastectomy and used the Brava System to regrow her breasts. She told KOB Albuquerque, “Up to now I am very happy. My breasts feel normal like my breast before. They’re not hard. They’re beautiful I think.” She had not wanted to go through another big surgery and didn’t really want implants. This system was able to give her new breast without having to do these things. She warned that the system was not comfortable. She said, “It is uncomfortable….but it is not painful. And the end result I think is worthwhile.”

Dr. Robert DerHagopian, director of the Baptist Health Breast Center, believes that this system is wonderful for patients who do not want an implant and a big operation. However he warns that the patient must be motivated to follow through with the procedure. He says, “Not every woman is willing to go through the multiple stages that may be required with fat injection.”

  1. Good post!! Breast implants are really good. I can say this because my best friend has got breast implants done at The Plastic and Cosmetic Centre of South Texas. I just can’t explain how nice she looks after the procedure. She is much more confident now and completely a new person. Breast implants are a windfall for all women who are not blessed with a perfect 36 bust size.
