Man Alive!!

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News,Male Cosmetic Surgery — Tags: Add new tag, Aesthetic Surgery, Breast Augmentation, cosmetic surgery, Dr. Marco Faria Correa, face lift, Facelifts, Hollywood women, Jakarta Post, liposuction, male celebrity, male plastic surgery, metrosexuality, perfect abs, perfect hairline, perfect pecs, physical perfection, plastic surgery, surgeon, Surgery, under the knife — admin @ 2:48 pm

We have already reported that more and more men were going under the knife. The rise in metrosexuality and an increased pressure on men to attain physical perfection has meant that more and more males have been opting for surgery to give them the perfect abs, or pecs, or hairline. However, news has reached us that male plastic surgery has now begun to take over the realm of the face-lift. For so long, this procedure has been in the ownership of Hollywood women who want to keep getting the starring roles by turning back the clock on tired faces but now, according to one surgeon, men are getting in on the act as well.

Dr. Marco Faria Correa spoke out to the Jakarta Post, saying that:

“With changing standards of aesthetic surgery for men and more liberal attitudes, we see an increase in the number of men opting for cosmetic surgery.”

Men are already taking more care of their skin, having more expensive haircuts and, largely thanks to a new culture of male celebrity, are taking much more care over how they style themselves and what they wear; plastic surgery and facelifts seem to just be the next logical step on from this.   However, it isn’t simply vanity which is pushing men into more and more complicated, harsh and expensive procedures.

Men have always been competitive in the world of business and now this competitive streak has boiled over in the realm of cosmetic surgery.  Surgery is a way for men to carry on looking young and energetic and this can only be a good thing in the tiring and stressful world of business. Women have long known that, sadly, appearances count for a lot in this cynical world and it seems that now, for better or for worse, men are now catching on to this idea as well.  Whilst men are beginning to make their mark on the world of surgery, it is still women who dominate, with breast augmentation procedures constantly being the top of the surgery charts on both side of the Atlantic, liposuction is also a phenomenally popular surgery. However, as men continue to want to stay ahead and continue to chase ideals which they see on the billboards and in the magazines all around them, there is no doubt that they may well soon match women in terms of the number of them going under the knife.

New Weapon in the Cellulite War

Filed under: Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery,Non-Surgical Treatments,Skin Care — Tags: Aesthetic Surgery, Celebrity Cosmetic Surgery, Cellulite, cellulite treaments, Cellulite treatment, cosmetic surgeon, cosmetic surgery, Laser treatment, new cellulite treatment, non invasive, non-invasive treaments, non-surgical treatment, Non-Surgical Treatments, revolutionary laser treatment, ZERINA laser treatment — admin @ 4:04 pm

Summer is approaching and many of us will be nervous about flashing the flesh as we head towards the beaches and resorts to get our yearly tans.

Women who might have been scared about packing the rather revealing bikini they splashed out on can breathe a sigh of relief as help is on hand for those who want to tone up thanks to another advance in cosmetic surgery.  ZERINA laser treatment is the newest kid on the aesthetic surgery block.

The procedure was launched in the cosmetic-surgery capital Los Angeles and is fast becoming a hit.  Whilst it hasn’t come across the Atlantic just yet, its popularity over the pond means that it must surely only be a matter of time before British women are also able to take advantage of this latest technological advancement. Of course, if you’ve always needed an excuse to go to America, then medical tourism could now provide the answer!

It’s a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment in which lasers are used to sculpt areas of the body. Women could tone their thighs, their hips and many other unsightly areas of their body and the fact that the treatments are non-invasive will come as good news to young professionals. With the recession meaning that people are trying to avoid taking any time off work for fear they could lose their jobs.  American-based cosmetic surgeon Dr. Troy Don has spoken out about the new treatment, saying that: “I used to joke with my patients. I’d ask them if there was anything else I could do to help them with their health”. His patients would hit back with: “ya, can you get rid of my extra fat without me exercising or changing my diet?” Normally Dr. Don would come back with some sarcastic comment about needing a “magic wand”. Well now such a magic wand is at hand, and it comes in the form of this revolutionary laser treatment.

Cellulite is not just a problem which affects us mere mortals; celebrities on both sides of the Atlantic constantly have to deny rumours that they are affected. Well, now we have two options: invest in a nice pair of lightweight jeans for the summer or, if we want to crack out that bathing suit, get on board with this brand new surgery which can banish our cellulite and help us have a happy summer; sadly sunny weather cannot be guaranteed.

More and more women

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News — Tags: Aesthetic cosmetic Surgery, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery, cosmetic surgery treatments, plastic and cosmetic surgery — admin @ 4:12 pm

It’s been almost a decade since the dawning of the new millennium and many things have changed; not least the economy which now seems mired in a recession. Despite these uncertain economic times however, and perhaps less disposable income around then there may have been 10 years ago, it doesn’t seem to have harmed the number of people undergoing plastic and cosmetic surgery treatments. In 2000, a survey carried out in America showed that just 31% of women would consider a cosmetic procedure and yet, when the same question was asked in 2009, that figure had risen to 40%.

Interestingly, the figures also pointed to an ebbing away of the stigma which has long surrounded plastic surgery. Previously, people had been under the impression that they had to lie about having a procedure or attempt to pass their young looks of as natural. This no longer seems to be the case, however.  Over half of the women questioned in this survey, carried out by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, said that they approved of plastic surgery and, amazingly, almost 75% of those questioned said that they wouldn’t have a problem telling people if they had undergone surgical enhancement to their body. Not only is plastic surgery becoming more popular, it’s becoming something to be proud of as well.

It’s not just women who have an increased interest in plastic surgery.  Men between the ages of 18 to 35 were the ones most open to the idea of plastic surgery 65% of them said they would approve of it; this figure shrinks down to just 49% for those aged 55 to 64. This can only be good news for the industry as a new generation of young people seem much more likely to seek surgery to slow down the aging process than their parent’s generation were.   One of the procedures which is hotly tipped to be very popular in 2009 is that of Body Contouring. As more and more of us go on strict diets and lose dramatic amounts of weight, we will need help shaping and tightening our bodies when we have reached our goal.

This is where Body Contouring surgery will likely come in. Despite tough economic times it seems that plastic and cosmetic surgeries are well placed to ride out the recession with more people seeking improved confidence and a better life.
