The Plastic Surgery Video Game

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News — Tags: beauty makeover application, before-and-after, cosmetic surgery pics, image modification technology, iSurgeon, plastic surgery images, plastic surgery imaging — admin @ 10:49 pm

It was only a matter of time before someone used image modification technology to create a video application that can show how a person would look after various cosmetic surgery operations were performed.

Photo “makeovers” have become an obsession with young people who use the technology to explore the possibilities of what they would look like with a smaller nose or fuller lips. Though the use of photo editing programs is nothing new, however, one plastic surgeon has taken it a step further by creating a beauty makeover application for use through an iPhone/iPod Touch device.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer combines personal imaging software with gaming features to create an application that puts changing your physical appearance into a video game mode. The game is called iSurgeon and it allows a user to upload personal photos to see what they would look like after various cosmetic procedures. The game mode of the application comes with sound effects and allows players to play the role of the actual surgeon and score points by successfully modifying the “patient’s” appearance.

The highest points are scored by getting as close to emulating the desired appearance of the patient as possible. By using an iPhone users can easily send images of their completed procedures to family and friends or upload the image onto their Facebook page as a link to Facebook is built into the App.

Dr. Salzhauer’s game introduces players to procedures that he provides in his Miami cosmetic surgery offices. Breast augmentation, liposuction, face lifts, tummy tucks, and nose jobs are only a few of the surgeries that can be performed on the game. Dr. Salzhauer believes that his App is not only a fun and entertaining way to pass the time, but it is a valuable tool to assist people in seeing if plastic surgery is something for them to explore. Dr. Salzhauer explained, “iSurgeon serves a dual purpose, providing those interested in cosmetic surgery treatments with a clear visual of what they would look like post-surgery, while also providing a fun entertaining game tool.” Is cosmetic surgery gaming the wave of the future? Maybe so.

Was It Worth It? 6 Extreme Celebrity Plastic Surgeries

Priscilla Presley

The former wife of the late, great Elvis Presley, Priscilla made waves as the star of the Naked Gun films, but could now star once again as her character in Tales from the Crypt without going to hair and makeup after a botched injection from a shady doctor.

Was it worth it?
From far away she doesn’t look too bad, but who knows what effect those chemicals are going to have in the long run.
Not Worth It.

Melanie Griffith

She’s only in her fifties and yet the amount of work, from facelift to lip augmentation, that’s been done on her face leaves her looking like a sixty-something soccer mom trying to pass for forty. Antonio must be so consumed with the appearance of his own face that he faintly recognizes he’s now married to Meg Ryan.

Was it worth it?
Her skin looks like it has practically been acid burned.
Not Worth It.

Cher

Cher’s career has lasted over 40 years, but her face is continually becoming reborn. I don’t know if it’s possible but, amid the obvious cheek implants, the facelift, and the collagen injections, it seems like the most noticeable change has been the elongation of her face.

Was it worth it?
With all that work done, her face is going to last a hell of a lot longer than her career, but that doesn’t mean we want it to.
Maybe or Maybe Not

Joan Rivers

Joan Rivers has become the golden standard for plastic surgery. We don’t laugh at her comedy, we don’t pay attention to her shows, we only watch to catch a glimpse of when her multiple facelifts, nose jobs, and other reconstructions will begin to move her face on their own.

Was it worth it?
Joan’s fully fake face is the only reason we know who she is.
Worth It.

Michael Jackson

There really aren’t any words. A skin bleaching disease couldn’t possibly turn a cute round-faced African American boy into Skeletor. There’s gotta be something in that blanket of his kids.

Was it worth it?
His initial musical talent and his subsequent bizarre behaviors were entertainment enough… we really didn’t need to bear witness to any public displays of self mutilation.
Not Worth It.

Jocelyn Wildenstein

The wealthy British heiress is often referred to as Cat Woman or The Bride of Wildenstein (Bride of Frankenstein) for reportedly undergoing nearly $4 million in plastic surgeries – facelifts, eye reconstruction, and injections all over her face – to become more feline.

Was it worth it?
She’s managed to change the world with her millions and simultaneously set herself up as a true soul mate.
Worth It. (lol)

Most Patients Need Time to Get Used to Results of Plastic Surgery

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News — Tags: Adjusment, Alter, Appearance, before-and-after, Confidence, cosmetic surgery, Long term, Pictures, plastic surgery, Results, Surgical, Treatment — admin @ 3:41 pm

A new study has reported that most plastic surgery patients can take up to six months to get used to their modified looks.

The academic report, which was published by the Harley Medical Group, claims that around 64 per cent of patients spend this duration of time adjusting to their new appearance, while the rest of the patients get so accustomed to the changes they forget they have ever looked different.

According to the members of a private clinic, before-and-after-pictures can be very useful in helping the patient to recover psychologically after plastic surgery. A picture is taken during the patient’s first interview before any surgical treatment, which works as a permanent way to remind the patient what an impact the surgery had.

Liz Dale, a spokeswoman, explained: “It is very important for the patient to understand the full extent of what they have gone through and its life altering effects. With the use of before-and-after pictures we enable the patient to visualise the dramatic change they’ve experienced. Patients often carry the photos around with them as a constant reminder of what they’ve been through.”
