I Want a Divorce! Then I Want Those Breasts Back!

Filed under: Breast Augmentation,Breast Implants,Cosmetic Surgery News,Weird and Wonderful — Tags: boob job, Breast Implants, cosmetic, divorce, Divorce settlement, Divorce's, divore settlement, divorse settlement, Justice Daniel Crothers, North Dakota, plastic surgery, plastic surgery procedures, South Central District of North Dakota — admin @ 7:58 am

Divorce’s can be very trying times for people. Ending a marriage comes with a lot of stress because lives that were joined must be divided into two separate lives. One man believed that his ex-wife’s breast implants should have been included in the settlement.

It is hard to decide how to divide the marital assets, so a judge is usually involved. A judge in North Dakota found out that some people have some strange ideas, as to what should be considered a marital asset. Erik Isaacson claimed that his ex wife Traci’s boob job should have been added to the marital assets, to be divided. He said that the $5,500 (,3,376) breast implants were no different from the couple’s car, home, and La-Z-Boy recliners.

The South Central District of North Dakota family court judge, Judge Robert Wefald, was unsure of how he could possibly divide breast implants between the couple. He was reported as saying, “Absolutely nonsense. I can’t imagine people would actually waste time thinking that breast implants are marital assets. It just defies common sense. I don’t know how you would expect me to award breast implants, if you want me to have them cut out and given to Mr. Isaacson.” The case of Isaacson v. Isaacson was very ridiculous, however Erik and his attorney were very serious.

During the proceedings, Justice Daniel Crothers actually asked Erik’s attorney, “Do we have any lines to be drawn? Is hip replacement a marital asset?” In response, the attorney argued that breast implants were not a necessary procedure. He said that they were purely cosmetic and elective. His argument was basically, if Mr. Isaacson bought a nice car, to look good in when he was driving around, it would be the same as Traci’s breasts. These arguments did not sway the judge. He found the whole idea to be absurd and told them exactly that.

A similar case involved a Dr. Richard Batista. He had given his wife a kidney and demanded that she give it back during the divorce. He was embroiled in four year long divorce proceedings and was becoming very frustrated with the negotiations. He said that he would take the kidney or $1.5 million. His demand was also denied.

Some people believe that plastic surgery procedures are commodities that can be listed as marital assets. Fortunately, no judge has decided that they are right.

Teen Angst

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News,Weird and Wonderful — Tags: body hang-ups, body insecurities, boob job, Breast Surgery, breasts, British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, surgical solutions, teenage days, under the knife — admin @ 2:14 pm

We all remember our teenage days; crippling self-doubt, being upset about our bodies, thinking that everybody else had the perfect look and that it was only us who had been afflicted by such bodily disfigurements. Obviously, as we get older, we realise that all teenagers are insecure and that, really, we aren’t as bad looking or as fat as our teenage self thought that we were. However, there is now a rising trend of teenagers considering going under the knife in a bid to correct what they see as their physical flaws. At an age when insecurity and self-doubt are rife, is it really the right option to consider surgical solutions to body hang-ups which will likely disappear along with spots as people get older?

Perhaps it isn’t huge news that teenagers dream about changing the way they look via plastic surgery but the startling statistic that 26% of teenage girls are actively thinking about having cosmetic surgery is extremely disturbing and it is clearly connected to body insecurities which are sadly rife for young women; nine out of ten young women who responded to the BBC survey said that they were unhappy with their body. Obviously, being unhappy with your body is as normal a part of being a teenager as mood-swings and regrettable fashion choices, but when this insecurity drives people into the surgeon’s table then it is surely a trend which needs to be addressed, and quickly.

At just 13, one respondent told the survey that when she was 16 she was going to go to the U.S in order to have a boob job there. “The things I don’t like about my body are my breasts…I spend almost 100 per cent of my life thinking about it,” she told the BBC. Hopefully, in three years time she will have grown to like her looks a bit more. The pressure on young girls to look a certain way seems to now come from all ends of society, from magazines, T.V and the fashion industry; girls are taught that there is only one way to look and anything else is a dangerous deviation from the norm.

At any age, it is women who top the tables of plastic surgery. 9 out of 10 of all cosmetic surgery procedures performed by members of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons were performed on women.

So much surgery so young

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News — Tags: boob job, Botox, Breast Implants, Breast Surgery, brest enlargement, cosmetic surgery, liposuction, plastic surgery, Surgery — admin @ 10:01 am

The Daily Mirror has reported on one young woman who has spent nearly £1000 on plastic surgery for every year she has been alive.  The twenty-four year old has spent a staggering £23,000 on plastic surgery and, apparently, she has no intention of stopping now.

Chloe Loughlin is a beauty therapist has had two boob-jobs, liposuction and Botox amongst other procedures; clearly her profession has taught her that physical perfection is important and Ms. Loughlin is clearly going to spend any amount of money possible to achieve her goals.

Chloe turned to surgery at a young age, 16, when her breasts shrunk; an unwanted side-effect of a diet she was on at the time. Such a dramatic change naturally left her feeling very insecure and she fought back, eventually increasing her cup size to a gravity-defying G.  Surgery is often used by people as a way of conquering low self-esteem and it often allows people to get on with the lives they want to live. Chloe’s story is proof that cosmetic surgery is not necessarily about changing who you are; it’s about increasing your levels of confidence so that the person you are has a chance to shine.

The Daily Mirror has quoted the young beauty-therapist as saying: “I used to be very insecure but now I’ve got so much confidence. I work hard, I’ve got the money to spend and what’s wrong with wanting to feel good about myself?” She also recalls the time after her first surgery: “I healed really quickly and I remember the first time I went out in a little top.” Chloe certainly hits on some good points here, if she has the money to spend and she knows it will increase her confidence, why shouldn’t she go under the knife and have the work done? Too many people get themselves into debt chasing the perfect celeb-inspired body but, if the money is there, then why not spend it on feeling fabulous?

Chloe is now planning her next procedures and, as long as the money is still there, will likely continue in her pursuit of physical perfection. One danger with plastic and cosmetic surgery is that, on very rare occasions, it can become addictive, but this is very rare and more often than not people who undergo vast amounts of surgeries are simply chasing the body they’ve always dreamed of.

Try Before You Buy!

Filed under: Breast Surgery,Cosmetic Surgery News — Tags: boob job, Breast Augmentation, breast augmentations, breast feeding, Breast Implants, breast lift, breast reductions, Breast Surgery, cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, pregnancy, saline implants, silicone implants — admin @ 7:48 pm

Many people want to try cosmetic surgery but are put off by the fact that they can’t be 100% sure of what the results will be.

This is all set to change with new technology that can show women what the results of their breast augmentation will look like before they go under the knife. This is likely to allay the fears of thousands of women who dream of having the procedure but don’t want to end up looking disfigured or scarred like some of the patients they may read about in the weekly magazines.

The SD imaging allows women to see the likely results, note not the guaranteed results, of the breast augmentation procedure which they will be undergoing.  This means that discussions about the desired shape, size or position of the new breasts do not now have to be mere abstracted conjecture; visual images can back up any claims made by the surgeon and reassure each patient, or forewarn them as the case may be, as to what the end result will be.

Since the boom in cosmetic surgery began over two decades ago, breast augmentations and reductions have long been at the top of the treatment ladder; everyone wants the perfect pair.  The enduring popularity of the so-called ‘boob job’ is down to the fact that women of all ages and sizes want them. Indeed, as Dr. Tiffany McCormack has pointed out everyone “from young women, who never fully developed to the extent that they wanted, to older mothers who just lost a lot of the breast tissue … after say breast-feeding or pregnancy,” are going under the knife.

This imaging technology is not the only advance in the breast augmentation arena to have been made in recent years. Saline implants have burst onto the scene as a really successful and viable alternative to silicone implants for some women. However, for other, the more old fashioned silicone implants are still more appropriate.  But whatever the actual implant, whether you want bigger or smaller breasts, whether you want a lift after pregnancy or whether you want more ascetically pleasing nipples, the new SD imaging system will help women of all ages and sizes see the results of their surgery without a cut being made; it will give them a chance, visually at least, to try before they buy. That should certainly give the industry a lift!

Teen Traumas

Many teenagers complain that they don’t get given enough pocket money to be able to afford the new Topshop arrival they want, but one teenager from Preston is now being forced to defend the fact she received £4000 for a boob-job.

Amanda Ryan, resident of the Lancashire city, received the operation after her GP confirmed that Ms. Ryan’s small bust was causing her problems.

Critics have spoken out against the procedure, commenting that there must surely be a better way for people’s taxes to be spent but the feisty seventeen year old has hit back, commenting that she was fully entitled to public money for the operation. Indeed the girl’s GP did point out that the teenager’s jealousy and envy directed towards her peers with larger busts was bringing her down and meaning that Amanda was not able to enjoy life as much as she might.

Amanda has spoken out, saying that: “It was funded on the NHS but, as anyone who works in the NHS knows, you have got to have a very, very good reason and there are different funds for everything.”  A crippling lack of self-confidence is certainly a big problem for any teenager and the improvement to her life could perhaps be said to be beyond money; the message would certainly seem to be that improved confidence is priceless! Amanda’s money had originally been against her daughter having such a risky surgery and expressed the concerns any mother would. However she soon realised that her daughter would have got the surgery as soon as she turned 18 anyway and thus she chose to give her daughter the permission she needed to go ahead with the breast augmentation.

Breast augmentation’s are amongst the most popular cosmetic surgery in the U.K, although they are rarely performed on patients so young and through funding given by the NHS. Many patients opt to go private for their treatment and have to shoulder the large costs of the operations themselves.  Many different age-ranges, from older women wanting to give their retirement an extra-boost to young professionals wanting to give themselves perkier job-prospects.  Debates about whether or not the NHS should have funded the operation aside, surely everyone will agree that the fact that a young adult will now have the confidence to chase her life goals is a cause for celebration and proof in the value of cosmetic surgery.

Boob-Job Bonding

Filed under: Breast Surgery — Tags: boob job, breas implant. breastfeeding, breast size reduction, breast surgey, bust implant, bust implants, bust reduction, bust reductions, reduce busts — admin @ 4:14 pm

Many of us are embarrassed by our mothers and do as little as we possibly can with them, but one mother and daughter have spoken out about how they were brought closer together by undergoing breast surgeries together!  The Daily Record reported on how Kimberly Skinner and her daughter, 28 year old Elaine Conroy were both in the same boat; they were both suffering from low-confidence after breastfeeding had left them with a reduced breast size.

Ms. Skinner was the first of them to undergo the procedure; she finally took the plunge after years of being unhappy with her appearance and, after an initial consultation in Edinburgh, enhanced her cup size from a 36C to a 36E. Ms. Skinner, as well as being very happy with the outcome, also had a very quick recovery time. She claimed to be up and walking around very soon after her surgery. Inspired by her mother’s success, daughter Kimberly Skinner was the next to undergo surgery.  She too had a very good experience and said that she was “more laidback” and was “happy” with who she was now. The story is testament to the fact that it doesn’t matter what age you are, breast augmentation surgery can give you a new found confidence.

Ms. Skinner and her daughter are not the only people discovering the life-enhancing qualities of breast enhancement.  There was a 30% increase in women seeking breast surgeries in Britain in 2008 and this number looks set to rise again this year despite the recession which the country appears to be mired in.  Mothers who have breast-fed their children are among the most likely demographic to be seeking breast surgery as many feel the need to give themselves something extra which nursing a child may have taken away. The plethora of companies now offering these surgeries and the amount of credit-schemes now available means that breast augmentation is now within the reach of many more women and this is also a huge factor behind the huge ‘boost’ in the number of surgeries being performed.

The mother-and-daughter story is heart warming and also shows how one person’s story can inspire someone else to take the plunge into surgery.  What may seem scary at first should become exciting once one hears of the many different inspirational success stories.  Improved confidence is only a few short steps away.

Forever Young

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery Finance — Tags: boob job, Confidence, eye surgery, money, older woman, plethora of surgeries, popular surgery, removal of bags — admin @ 2:23 pm

How much would you pay to recapture the looks of your youth? To relive your glory days and get back that confidence you had when you felt invincible and world-beating? How about £10,000?

Janet Cunliffe was tired of the way she looked and decided that she would rather not be a middle aged mother anymore but would prefer to look like her daughters older sister!  Janet is a beautician and thus was well aware of the vast importance now placed on how we look and, whether right or wrong, the immense pressure which is now thrust upon women to fight back against the signs of ageing.

Armed with this information, and a desire to go from frumpy to fabulous, The Sun has detailed how Janet has shrunk from a size 14 to a size 6 blond bombshell who now looks more like a woman in her twenties. Shaving 30 years off your assumed age is certainly an achievement! Janet revealed to the newspapers how she had been inspired by “older celebrities” to undergo the dramatic changes.

She was inspired by their ability to turn back the clock and she essentially wanted to see if it could be achieved by a normal member of the public as well. The success of her surgeries is certainly testament to the fact it’s not just the famous who can gain their fantasy body.

The road to looking more like her daughter certainly wasn’t an easy one, first a boob job was embarked upon and then the face was tackled with eyes, nose and lip surgery all undertaken.  The eyes are often one of the troublesome areas for older women and eye surgery is fast becoming the most popular surgery in the U.K. The removal of bags can take years off your face and mean your eyes can once more be the part of you that gets you noticed, not the part you try to keep hidden.

Of course such a plethora of surgeries did not come cheap but, luckily, Janet had some savings and these were put good use and she now feels fabulous. Many women in a similar position to Janet are taking the surgical plunge as they feel it will be a way of restarting their life and giving them back the confidence which may have ebbed away from them. Forty, Fifty and beyond can now be as fabulous as you want them to be!

Breast Augmentation Influences Lingerie Sales

Filed under: Breast Surgery — Tags: boob job, boobs, bra, bra size, breast enlargement, Breast enlargment, Breast Implants, Breast Surgery, cup sizes, lingerie — admin @ 12:40 am

New figures reveal a link between the increase in breast augmentation procedures and surging sales of bigger cup size bras.

Leading brands have reported that sales of D to G cup size bras have increased dramatically in last year‘s festive season.
Ultimo claims that bigger cup size lingerie sales have increased by 26 per cent in comparison to the year before. The company‘s chief executive officer Michelle Mone has noted that cup size 34FF has been one of its most demanded items recently.

Inccreasing Demand for Combination Breast Surgery

Experts reveal that more women who decide to choose plastic operations to enhance the appearance of their breasts, combine lifting and augmentation procedures.

As suggested by studies, breast lift and augmentation operations have been considered to be the most popular plastic surgery treatments in the US in the last decade.

Cosmetic surgery specialist Dr John Osborn claimed: “Breast lift and breast augmentation are two very different procedures that are performed with different goals in mind,”

“However, the benefits of the procedures are complementary, so combining a breast lift with a breast augmentation is often the best way to achieve the complete breast enhancement many women are looking for.”

Breast lifts aim at reshaping the breast and reducing sagging, while augmentation increases volume and size, reducing flatness and making the breast look fuller.

Specialists claim that if a patient seeks to improve the shape and cleavage, but does not want to enlarge the breasts, a breast lift procedure can be supplemented with implants.

Boob job piggy bank criticised by parents

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery Finance — Tags: boob job, breast enlargement, Breast Implants, Cosmetic Surgery Finance, teenagers — admin @ 11:37 pm

A website received criticism for encouraging young girls to save money for breast implants.

Wake Up Frankie! is an online retail outlet specializing at selling clothes and accessories for teenagers.

But the US-based website has raised negative reaction among parents for offering buyers a pink piggy bank saying Boob Job on it.

The pink ceramic saving box, decorated with dollar signs, raised concerns because of the implication that the collected savings are going to be used for a breast enlargement operation.

Louise Colley, who is a mum of two, told the Telegraph: “I would never give this as a present to any young girl, it just doesn’t seem right.”

“Just because a girl is 13 or over doesn’t mean she should be encouraged to think about major cosmetic surgery.”

Breast enlargement operations are still a popular solution for young women who are not satisfied with their current breast size.
