Breast Augmentation with Fat Grafting

Fat grafting is a way to enlarge breasts by up to one cup size without introducing an artificial substance into the body. Fat is removed from fat deposits in the body such as the hips, abdomen, and thighs and placed someplace else in order to plump that area up. Traditionally this procedure has been used to smooth wrinkles and to plump the lips and cheeks. Recently, however, cosmetic surgeons have begun to use this procedure in breast augmentations. This is a new procedure and there are not a lot of safety statistics that have been done. Physicians are still conducting research on the fat grafting procedure.

A newer technique, fat grafting with stem cells, allows for the fat taken from other parts of the body to be enriched with stem cells before it is used to augment the breasts. The added stem cells allow for the fat to be retained by the body, therefore, increasing the breast size.

Recent studies show that the risks for this procedure are generally very low. Reported side effects include infection, bleeding, and volume loss. Cases of extreme complications causing death are extremely rare.

There are many different advantages to choosing this procedure for breast augmentation. Many doctors believe that this procedure provides longer lasting results than traditional breast implants. Also, since the breast is being augmented with fat from the patient’s own body, there is a lower chance for the body rejecting it like with traditional silicone transplants.

While many medical professionals consider this procedure to have a lot of potential, but there are still some limitations. The first is that it only allows for an augmentation of up to one cup size unlike current synthetic implants. Synthetic implants are also very predictable in how much they will increase the breast size, whereas fat grafting is still relatively unpredictable in what the final outcome will be. Some medical professionals only believe that fat grafting should be used for breast reconstruction only. Others professionals are concerned that the fat grafted into the breast could calcify and obscure breast cancer detection. Each calcified area would have to be individually checked to rule out the possibility of breast cancer. There are even more concerns that women at risk for breast cancer may have the increased possibility of breast cancer if they use the stem cell method. Many doctors agree that fat grafting for breast augmentation is not right for everyone.

Skin Peels Taking Over As Top Facial Treatment

The recession has not seen a decrease in cosmetic surgeries, on the contrary it has flourished. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) reported nearly a seven percent increase in the cosmetic surgeries performed by them in 2009 in the UK. Mr. Nigel Mercer, President of BAAPS, said, “The public’s interest in aesthetic surgery appears to remain strong and indeed growing..”

Along with the increase in surgical procedures, the cosmetic procedures that are non surgical have increased substantially. These procedures include accent laser treatment, Botox, collagen injections, and others. Liz Dale, director of The Harley Medical Group, said, “Non-surgical procedures, which saw a big growth last year, have continued to be a strong area for us and now account for 32 percent of all our
business.” A non-surgical procedure that has become very popular is the skin peel, also known as a chemical peel. During the recession many people have tried to find less expensive ways to look beautiful and chemical peels are one of these recession-proof procedures. The Harley Medical Group’s Obagi Blue Peel, which gets rid of blemishes, acne scars, uneven pigmentation, sun damage, and wrinkles, has been in high demand. It has actually been dubbed ‘the recession facelift’ since chemical peels have outstripped facelifts in popularity.

Skin peels are a skin resurfacing technique which removes the top layer of skin. The body replaces this skin with a fresh layer of skin that is clearer and no longer has the problem that the old layer of skin had. There are three different levels of skin peels which include light, intermediate, and deep. The different levels of peel correspond to the severity of the problem that the patient wishes to erase. The deep peel is actual able to remove deep lines and medium sized wrinkles. Many people have found that a face-lift is not always necessary because a chemical peel can indeed make their face look fresh and young.

Mr. Dale also reported, “The surgical side of the business is also continuing to grow. While breast augmentations remain the most popular surgical procedure, rhinoplasties (nose operations) are closing the gap in second.” Breast augmentation is very popular for mothers who are trying to regain their figures after giving birth. They actually account for 75 percent of the breast up lift patients, and an astounding 90 percent of the tummy tuck procedures.

2009 also saw the number of men undergoing plastic surgery increase dramatically. In fact 18 percent of all procedures performed in 2009, were on men. The Harley Medical Group reports that Botox and Sweatox actually account for much of this growth in procedures performed on men.

Men More Comfortable With Tummy Tucks

Cosmetic surgery has grown quickly in popularity. With society’s increasing acceptance, of people who have undergone plastic surgery, the number of procedures performed continues to multiply. Women can get breast augmentations, liposuction, and face-lifts. But what has been surprising, is the increasing number of procedures that men are undergoing. In fact according to The Hospital Group, one of UK’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery and obesity surgery, the number of tummy tuck procedures performed on men has increased by 60 percent in the last five years.

Many men, who have lost a substantial amount of weight, find that if they want to look good they will need to have a procedure done to remove the excess skin. A spokesperson for The Hospital Group, said: “Men often opt to have a tummy tuck if they have had substantial weight-loss and are left with sagging skin around the abdomen. We have seen an increase in men having obesity surgery which could have had a knock-on effect.” Tummy tucks, also know as abdominoplasty, can improve the look of the stomach drastically. The procedure is performed by tightening the abdominal muscles and removing excess skin. The remaining skin is then pulled tight and secured. This will create a tighter and firmer abdomen.

As reported in Surgery Lowdown-Cosmetic Surgery Advice, John Wright form Lincolnshire had a tummy tuck operation and breast reduction after loosing 22 stone. He said, :After the immense effort and hard work of losing so much weight it was utterly soul destroying to see vast folds of skin hanging from my body…….. I used almost ,10,000 of my savings but I think it was worth every penny.” Many testimonials from men who have had a tummy tuck are the same as Mr. Wright’s. The result of a tummy tuck make many men feel like they are a whole new person.

There has been a substantial increase in plastic surgeries performed on men in the last few years. According to Mr. Rajiv Grover, Secretary of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, “This year [2009] we have recorded a dramatic rise in a number of male surgical procedures, probably due to heightened media attention, which has allowed men to realise the positive outcomes that can be achieved.” Men have begun to put a greater emphasis on their own appearances and thus the increase in cosmetic procedures performed on men is merely a logical extension of this.

2010 to Have Record Boob Jobs

Plastic surgery is a great way for women to get the body that they want. The contours of the body can be sculpted to any shape that is desired and even the face can be altered in a great many ways. Boob jobs have proven to be the most popular surgeries in previous years and surgeons expect 2010 to be no different.

The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons has reported that breast augmentation has been the most popular procedure in plastic surgery for many years. In fact, the reports from as far back as 2004 show that the number of breast augmentations in the UK was higher than other procedures. Of all the cosmetic surgeries that women received in 2009, nearly 26 percent were breast augmentations.

Breast augmentation is a procedure that increases the breast size or corrects asymmetrical breasts. It is most often achieved by putting an implant under the breast tissue or the chest muscle behind the breast. There are two main types of implants used. Saline implants have a silicone rubber shell that is filled with a
saline solution. Silicone implants also have the silicone rubber shell, but are filled with a silicone gel instead. Many women find that the silicone implant looks and feels more natural.

Improved surgical techniques and technology have helped in making breast augmentation even more popular. New processes in making silicone gel has made it much more cohesive so that it sticks to itself. This helps to create the same feeling as tissue cells sticking together. Techniques available today allow the
surgery to be done through small, inconspicuous or hidden incisions. The procedures are quicker, less painful, and have a greatly reduced recovery time. Paul Collins, editor at BuyAssociation, says, “There’s always innovation-there’s always new techniques coming forwards and new techniques in recovery as well.”

The new year has once again encouraged women to consider having plastic surgery. Dr. Richard Chaffoo, a triple board-certified plastic surgeon, indicated in a press release that “Most New Year’s resolutions boil down to one simple desire: to look and feel more like the person you want to be.” The most common resolutions for women in 2010 revolved around improving their bodies. Some vowed to get a new membership at a gym where as others decided to buy exercise equipment themselves. Still others are deciding that plastic surgery is the way to go.

A study by the GoodSurgoenGuide revealed that over fifty percent of women were considering to have plastic surgery in 2010. If previous years are any indication of what to expect, we can be sure that many of these procedures will be breast augmentations.

Hey Honey Look At These : Cosmetic Surgery Wedding Gift

An American woman planned a wedding gift for her fiancé that was sure to impress and blow his mind. Erin Wade decided that it would be great to get a breast augmentation for him as a surprise. She timed it specifically so that she would be healed in time for the wedding.

The amazing part of this story is that she was able to keep this procedure a secret from him for nine months. Being a Christian couple, they were not physical during their engagement. This allowed her to have an awesome gift for him for their honeymoon. It was reported that, upon the unveiling, his response was a smile which stretched across his face. His wife’s breast augmentation elicited a, “wow” from him.

Many woman get such a procedure done before their wedding. Some of them want to look better in their wedding dress, to fulfill that dream of a fairy tale wedding. Walking up the aisle with a full bust pushing at the seams of the dress is many girls fantasy. Others say that they get the procedure done to impress their husbands and have a more pleasurable experience on the honeymoon. It would appear that Mrs. Wade considered both these things when deciding on the breast augmentation. It was reported that she expressed a desire to fill out her bikini and a wedding dress.

Many people find that they are not satisfied with their bodies and turn to cosmetic surgery as the solution. Cosmetic surgery has become a very popular trend throughout the world. Of the many surgeries available, breast augmentation remains the most popular in the UK. The British Association or Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons reports that there were a total of 8,439 procedures performed in 2009 alone.

Investing in Looking Good

New reports from the U.S have suggested that the craze for getting plastic surgery has now stretched to all the different levels of the age strata. On this blog we have previously informed you of young graduates having surgery in order to force their way into a shrinking jobs market and also of older professionals seeking surgery in order to keep them competitive and looking younger. Well now it’s the middle-aged workers who are getting in on the act. The Miami Herald carried the story a little while ago and now we’re going to bring it to you.

As the recession continues to bite and there seems to a never-ending cycle of news reports about people being laid off and large-scale job losses at multi-national companies who had previously seemed invincible, people want to take whatever steps they can to ensure they keep their jobs. However, in difficult times such as these, you wouldn’t think that people had the cash available to spend on plastic surgery and yet this latest news seems to suggest that people are seeing plastic surgery as an investment; professionals are clearly hoping that they can secure pay-rises or simply secure their jobs by investing in the way they look.

Dr. Fredric Brandt, who works in New York, has spoken out about the news, saying that:

“They consider it an investment, they feel the money they’re spending on this will help them get a job and that it will pay for itself and then some.”

Whilst non-invasive procedures have always been popular with professionals as they have very quick recovery times, this report also highlights that it is larger procedures which are also being undertaken. Face-lifts and even breast augmentations are being performed on the 40+ generation in an attempt to push their way to the front of a jobs market. However, with procedures such as these, recovery times are much longer and thus, if you were to have one, then you would have to have some time off work and this might not help secure a job in a struggling place of employment. Essentially, whilst cosmetic surgery could help you, it could also hinder you if you have to remove yourself from your job in order to recover. It is likely, as the recession continues to bite, that more people will turn to cosmetic surgery, both to help their employability and to help themselves.

New Breasts Bring New Wealth

Everybody knows the old saying that money can’t buy you happiness. Well, how about this one as an alternative. Money can buy you a dazzling pair of new breasts which, in turn, can bring you even more wealth and, perhaps, a little bit of anti-recession happiness as well!

Research has been carried out which suggests, perhaps quite obviously when you consider the idea logically, that having an enhanced bust-line can help in a person’s bid to become famous and can thus, in the long run, mean that they earn a lot more money.  Colin Stewart is the man who pointed out this trend, saying that the two women from the two wealthiest celebrity couples have both undergone plastic surgery. So is this a quantifiable trend? Or merely a healthy, pert coincidence?

The two women in question in this research were Jordan, aka Katie Price, who has recently split from her singer husband Peter Andre, and Victoria Beckham, style icon and worldwide celebrity supreme. Both these women are incredibly wealthy and incredibly beautiful but, does their success owe anything to their surgeries or is it rather down to having a shrewd business head? Jordan’s early glamour modelling career was certainly down to her enhanced figure but, in the case of Mrs. Beckham one does feel that success and wealth was more to do with her Spice Girl associations and footballing husband than her always debated plastic surgeries; indeed it is not really known what surgeries Victoria has had which, I guess, is testament to how natural they look (if indeed she has had any at all). Indeed Victoria Beckham is even said to have had her large breast implants removed in an effort to change her image; she is rich from being a constantly moving style icon, not necessarily for surgery alone.

Indeed, if this research were true then one would assume that there were many more rich people out there than is actually the case. Breast Augmentations are constantly the most requested most performed surgery on both sides of the Atlantic; around 300,000 were performed last year in the U.S alone. There is no doubt that an ample bust can “enhance” certain careers, such as glamour models, but it is not the only thing needed to succeed. Surgery is a helping hand but, as Katie Price has proved, a good business head and a good agent are also needed.

Serving Up Confidence

A teenage tennis star has taken an unusual step in an effort to improve her game. As well as the obvious things like lots of practise, a healthy diet and good mental condition, this young court ace has also decided on cosmetic surgery to help her make the leap up to the next echelon of the game.  Simona Halep is currently ranked 264 in the WTA rankings but she will be hoping that her decision might boost her position (if you can excuse that pun)

The tennis prodigy is planning to have breast reduction surgery in the autumn in order to help her mobility around the court.  It is said that her 34DD breasts are slowing down her movement and her reactions on the court and thus she isn’t performing as well as she might. It is hoped the private surgery she has booked in will help stop this problem.  Halep has commented: “The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play,” before going on to say: “”I don’t like them in my everyday life either. I would have gone for surgery, too, if I hadn’t been a sportswoman.” It is true that many women are hindered by their larger breasts and thus seek reduction surgery. The fact that Halep is only 5 foot 5, coupled with her sporting  career, means that it would have been very uncomfortable for her to carry on with the breasts at the current size.

Halep isn’t one of these tennis players who is in the sport just because of the way she looks (Anna Kornikova springs to mind). She won the junior French Open last year and is considered by many of the leading tennis experts to be a future senior champion.  If she is to be as good as the Williams sisters, or the other great female tennis players, she will have to hope that this surgery improves her mobility around the court and allows her to improve her game.

Whilst it is breast augmentations which normally steal all the headlines, breast reduction surgeries are almost as common in the U.K and thousands of women go under the knife every year to help them have a more manageable life. Let us hope this surgery helps Simona Halep to start serving up more aces and that, with improved confidence and mobility, she will swiftly rise to the top of her game.

Something Borrowed, Something Boob

One of the major trends in the cosmetic industry over the last few years has been the startling rise in the number of brides-to-be deciding to undergo breast augmentations.

The change in fashion in bridal wear from heaps of material and ruffles to slinkier, more body-con numbers, has led many women to realise that their flaws can’t be hidden any longer. Thus, like a bouquet, many women are now choosing to throw away their love handles and their low self confidence!

Many women have a dream of what their wedding will be like, normally from a very young age and the perfect physical form is normally one very important part of this dream.  Breast Augmentation can make a bride confident that she will fill out her dress and will look confident and stunning as she walks down the aisle.   One bride-to-be, Jackie O’Neil, took herself from a 32AA to a 32C cup before her dream wedding in Cyprus. She told the Daily Mail:  “Before the operation, I had no bust at all. It had always made me very depressed. There were lots of clothes I just couldn’t wear, like small summer dresses. “When I went for a consultation, I was a nervous wreck. But it had totally changed my life and given me confidence I just never had.” Jackie’s story is testament to just how big a change to your life a breast augmentation could make. Her wedding might have been slightly deflated if she hadn’t chosen to have the surgery and yet she battled through her fears and came out the other side much more confident, and much more married!

With breast augmentation’s constantly being one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world year on year, and with an estimated 6 billion pounds spent on wedding every year, it seems almost inevitable that eventually the two industries would collide in the form of bride’s boob jobs.  Like everything else to do with weddings, it seems that most women believe that the cost is ultimately worth it; they are probably right. It is a day which you will remember forever and, after the confetti has been swept up, the cake eaten and your drunk Auntie Mabel carried up to bed, you will be left with two things.  Firstly a partner to love and cherish, but also a new found confidence which will never divorce you.

MYA is Sky-High

Despite the difficult economic climate which we are all facing up to as we come towards the end of the first decade of the 21st Century, some companies are still managing to stay afloat and even improve their business.

One of these success stories can most certainly be seen as MYA, the Leeds-based cosmetic surgery company.  The company has reported a 25% increase in enquires for procedures at the beginning of the year compared with the year before.  The increase demand for MYA’s service seems to point to the fact that the cosmetic surgery industry may well turn out to be recession-proof; the 1224 enquiries received since the start of year seeming to back up this notion.

MYA stands for Make Yourself Amazing and there certainly seems to be an amazing story behind these figures posted in the most turbulent economic times seen since World War 2.  John Ryan, the company’s chairman, has said: “The recession is a real thing, but with cosmetic surgery people regard it as a priority in their lives and they will forego a new car or a holiday to get it done. People feel it gives them the boost they require in difficult times.” This seems to sum up the public’s reasoning; they might be feeling down about the economy but many people are choosing to alter their appearance in order to give themselves an extra lift or indeed to give themselves an advantage in the jobs market. Looking good now matters to young professionals more than it ever did in the past.

Breast Enlargements seem to be the most popular procedure with 62% of MYA’s patients opting for this option.  It is not just patient numbers that seem to prove that MYA is defying the recession. It recently created 12 new jobs in Leeds through the creation of a new patient booking system and it intends to spend £1million on a new advertising campaign which will also be the catalyst to the proposed opening of 6 new clinics throughout the U.K.  This story is only made the more remarkable when you consider MYA is only one company and represents only a fraction of the cosmetic surgery market. When all the industry was considered together it is likely that the figures would be even more amazing and be undeniable proof that the cosmetic surgery industry is not only going to survive the recession but is going to come out of it perkier, fresher and fabulous.
