People Are Choosing Liposculpting over Liposuction

Filed under: Body Contouring,Cosmetic Surgery News,Female Cosmetic Surgery — Tags: Breast Augmentation, British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, cosmetic surgery, fat cells, liposculpting, liposuction, liposuction procedure, liposuction procedures, MYA, plastic surgery group, weight loss procedure — admin @ 8:51 am

With cosmetic surgery becoming more and more important in our society, the popularity of the types of procedures that people are choosing is shifting. Breast augmentation was the most popular procedure in 2009, and a recent survey by MYA, a plastic surgery group, has found that it has also been the most popular surgery in 2010 so far. Liposuction is not very far behind in the popularity ratings. What is surprising, is that liposculpting is slowly overtaking full liposuction in popularity.

According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, nearly one in ten procedures performed in 2009 were liposuction procedures, with a total of 3,509 surgeries in the UK. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery where fat cells are removed from the body in medium to large amounts. This reduces fat in areas below the chin, upper arms, lower stomach, hips and thighs. Liposculpting, on the other hand, is a
liposuction procedure where small to medium amounts of fat cells are removed. This procedure is designed to sharpen features and accentuate areas with a more sleek appearance. The areas normally associated with liposculpting are the neck, lower cheeks, upper stomach, outer buttocks, calves, and ankles.

The refined and more localized procedure of liposculpture has slowly become more popular than liposuction. Mario Russo, medical director at The Hospital Group, said, “The market and business demands of the patients are moving very much towards localised [liposuction] now and therefore the main requests are more for minor areas and more for sculpting one or a few areas at a time.”

Liposculpting is a less invasive and less extensive form of liposuction. Instead of a large incision, a small incision is made and the cannula is inserted there. It is usually an outpatient surgery due to its reduction in invasiveness, compared to liposuction. The procedure also requires less recovery time, and thus many people are rushing to the surgeons for some sculpting.

Liposculpting is not a weight loss procedure. It should be understood that having this procedure done will not create drastic changes like liposuction. Liposculpting is the sculpting and reshaping of small to medium problem areas on the body. Little pockets of fat are sometimes very frustrating. Some people have tried every exercise, weight loss pill, or diet, and still cannot get those pockets to go away. Liposculpting is a surefire way to remove those pockets for good. Many people have found that liposculpting has accentuated parts of their body and given them the look that they had only ever dreamed of.

Liposuction is Better For Weight Loss Than Fat-loss Pills

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News,Weight Loss — Tags: advancements in cosmetic surgery, diet pills, fatfreefitness.co.uk, increase metabolism, liposuction, liposuction procedure, liposuction procedures, overweight, Rich Leigh, Weight Loss, Weight loss pills, weight loss supplements, weight loss tablets, women want to lose weight — admin @ 3:25 pm

Many women want to lose weight and weight loss tablets seem to be an easy way to accomplish this. Of all the possible choices for weight loss this is one of the worst. Weight loss pills are a temporary fix who’s effects will soon wear off. A better more permanent solution is a liposuction procedure.

Rich Leigh , a personal trainer and founder of fatfreefitness.co.uk, says that many women are trying to lose weight by using weight loss tablets because they don’t have time to exercise. Many women are too busy with a never ending list of things to do during their days and thus cannot fit exercise into their schedules. This does not mean that they must live with being overweight. They merely have to find a viable alternative to exercise.

Rich Leigh commissioned research to determine the number of women using fat loss pills. This study involved 1,392 women between the ages of 16 and 50. The findings were that an average of 23 percent of these women used weight loss pills. Of the women under 30, 18 percent used them and of those over 30, 28 percent used them. Sixty-seven percent of these fat loss pills were purchased online anonymously. Many of these women, nearly 67 percent, said that they took the pills because they did not have time to exercise. Thirty-one percent said that using weight loss pills was a last resort.

Most weight loss supplements contain ma huang which is a botanical source of ephedrine similar to amphetamine. Hundreds of adverse reactions have been reported from using this substance. These reactions include dizziness, nausea, and seizures or even heart attacks and strokes. These pills claim to increase metabolism. However once a person stops taking them the weight will come right back. The temporary weight loss of diet pills is surely not worth the risks associated with their use.

Women must not despair. There is a way to get rid of these fat cells in a safe and effective way. Liposuction is a viable substitute for diet pills. It is a procedure that removes pockets of fat from problem areas on the body. It is accomplished using a suction tube called a cannula which is inserted into a small incision. The cannula is pushed and pulled through the fat cells, breaking them up and then sucking them out of the body. The results are amazing and many women have learned this fact for themselves. Thousands of women availed themselves of some form of liposuction in 2009, including fat cell removal from both the face and body.

Due to many advancements in the cosmetic surgery field, liposuction is a safe and easy way for a woman to rid herself of those flabby features that she hates. Liposuction is indeed an excellent alternative to fat loss pills for shedding that excess weight.

Plastic Surgeries on the Rise in the UK in Spite of Current Credit Crunch

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery Finance,Cosmetic Surgery News — Tags: Breast Augmentation, British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, cosmetic surgery operations, liposuction procedure, toe tuck — admin @ 3:50 pm

Even as many are facing a tightening of their belts in tough economic times, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons is reporting a 12 per cent rise in cosmetic surgery operations over last year.

Though breast augmentation remains the number one choice for those seeking cosmetic procedures, there are plenty of people so unhappy with perceived faults in their appearances that they are willing to pay out large sums and go through the painful recovery times of a plastic surgery procedure just to get the body they have always wanted.

Obscure surgeries such as toe tucks, butt lifts, and “cankle” surgeries are on the rise in Britain. As plastic surgery becomes more accepted in society, many people are taking a hard look at their appearance and deciding that cosmetic surgery may be able to correct even what some would consider minor flaws in their appearance. Office worker Lisa Dalgeith decided to get a difficult procedure known as a “toe tuck” done because she has spent her life hating what she believes to be overly long toes. “As a teenager I dreamed of wearing cute flip flops like my friends, but the sight f my big toes made me physically sick. They looked hideous.”

Dalgeith paid 3,000 pounds for a three hour procedure that involved chiseling the bones in her toes to make them shorter. Toe tucks are not the only bizarre surgery people are clamoring for, Britain Julie Seymour had a pricey operation performed to have butt implants inserted into her buttocks in order to give her backside a more rounded appearance. The 2,8000 pound procedure gave her the butt she always wanted and the confidence to get into a bikini for the first time.

Fellow Britain Anne Grey had a liposuction procedure done on her “cankles” to bring out the shape of her ankles and improve her body image. The procedure sucked fat out of the area where her ankles meet her calves and created a more defined ankle structure.

Though these surgeries may seem bizarre and unnecessary, to the patients the procedures were just what they were looking for to get over years of insecurities related to a certain body art. As societal perceptions become more accepting of cosmetic surgery expect to see a lot more of your friends and neighbors making subtle changes to their appearances in order to gain the confidence and satisfaction that has alluded them for years.
