Liposuction is Better For Weight Loss Than Fat-loss Pills

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News,Weight Loss — Tags: advancements in cosmetic surgery, diet pills, fatfreefitness.co.uk, increase metabolism, liposuction, liposuction procedure, liposuction procedures, overweight, Rich Leigh, Weight Loss, Weight loss pills, weight loss supplements, weight loss tablets, women want to lose weight — admin @ 3:25 pm

Many women want to lose weight and weight loss tablets seem to be an easy way to accomplish this. Of all the possible choices for weight loss this is one of the worst. Weight loss pills are a temporary fix who’s effects will soon wear off. A better more permanent solution is a liposuction procedure.

Rich Leigh , a personal trainer and founder of fatfreefitness.co.uk, says that many women are trying to lose weight by using weight loss tablets because they don’t have time to exercise. Many women are too busy with a never ending list of things to do during their days and thus cannot fit exercise into their schedules. This does not mean that they must live with being overweight. They merely have to find a viable alternative to exercise.

Rich Leigh commissioned research to determine the number of women using fat loss pills. This study involved 1,392 women between the ages of 16 and 50. The findings were that an average of 23 percent of these women used weight loss pills. Of the women under 30, 18 percent used them and of those over 30, 28 percent used them. Sixty-seven percent of these fat loss pills were purchased online anonymously. Many of these women, nearly 67 percent, said that they took the pills because they did not have time to exercise. Thirty-one percent said that using weight loss pills was a last resort.

Most weight loss supplements contain ma huang which is a botanical source of ephedrine similar to amphetamine. Hundreds of adverse reactions have been reported from using this substance. These reactions include dizziness, nausea, and seizures or even heart attacks and strokes. These pills claim to increase metabolism. However once a person stops taking them the weight will come right back. The temporary weight loss of diet pills is surely not worth the risks associated with their use.

Women must not despair. There is a way to get rid of these fat cells in a safe and effective way. Liposuction is a viable substitute for diet pills. It is a procedure that removes pockets of fat from problem areas on the body. It is accomplished using a suction tube called a cannula which is inserted into a small incision. The cannula is pushed and pulled through the fat cells, breaking them up and then sucking them out of the body. The results are amazing and many women have learned this fact for themselves. Thousands of women availed themselves of some form of liposuction in 2009, including fat cell removal from both the face and body.

Due to many advancements in the cosmetic surgery field, liposuction is a safe and easy way for a woman to rid herself of those flabby features that she hates. Liposuction is indeed an excellent alternative to fat loss pills for shedding that excess weight.

Cutting Away the Past

Many more people are now undergoing dramatic weight-loss programs, perhaps inspired by celebrities such as designer Karl Lagerfeld, in order to achieve their dream bodies.

Many people find that, even after they have exercises and starved their way into those size 0 jeans, they aren’t left with a body which they would proudly display in a bikini. This is because, as we lose weight, the skin loses its elasticity, having stretched around all the excess weight for years, and often hangs down in unsightly pouches once the weight has gone. This leads many dieters to turn to tummy-tucks to finish of the job which weight-loss started.

Many natural dieters, as well as those fitted with gastric bands, are turning to abdominoplasty to take that final step towards physical perfection.  “Weight fluctuations affect the distribution of fat and the elasticity of the skin, especially in areas like the hips, flanks, and buttocks.” commented Dr. Grant Stevens, a Los Angeles-based cosmetic surgeon.  This means that tummy tucks are now being added to a healthy diet and regular exercise as the integral parts of achieving a celebrity-beating body.  It’s not just tummy tucks which are available either; liposuction and body-lift procedures can also help eradicate the disfiguring scars of an overweight or obese past.  We lose weight to make a fresh start, to begin afresh and take on life; we don’t want to be shackled down with constant, unsightly reminders of the past!

This is clearly a feeling which is prevalent amongst many cosmetic surgery patients, and in particular amongst men, with the latter investing in tummy tucks 30% more than women did in 2008. This is an astonishing figure and one which proves that the country has well and truly been overrun by the notion of metrosexuality. It is no longer just women who are pressured to look a certain way, now men are going under the knife in an attempt to live up to the billboards and models which surround us every day. Some companies even offer pec and six-pac implants for the lazier man to get fit in a hurry. Joking aside, tummy tucks do offer a major boost in confidence, not just for dieters, but also for those who have gone through the joyous process of pregnancy but who have come out the other side with depleted confidence. Such negativity can now be cut away!

Slimming Drugs May be Effective

Filed under: Weight Loss — Tags: control appetite, excess weight, lose weight, overweight, Weight Loss, weight problems — admin @ 1:15 am

Researchers claim that two newly launched drugs which have recently been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) may serve as effective methods of losing excess weight.

Experts at Harvard Medical School have investigated the fact that some people are more immune to the hormone leptin, which helps control appetite by sending impulses to the brain when the individual has had the required amount of food.

Many people with weight problems do not have the normal bodily reaction to leptin. Therefore, they keep eating even when they are full and gain more weight.

Scientists have determined that mice with an induced condition known as endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress had higher resistance to leptin and had an increased chance of putting on excess weight if they were given food that was high in fat.

The researchers found that the effects could be prevented by administering one of two slimming products, 4-Phenyl Butyric Acid (PBA) or Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA), to the mice.

Umut Ozcan, one of the co-authors of the research commented that the results were “very exciting” and that making people with the condition respond more to leptin “could treat obesity”.

The scientist added: “When the high safety profiles of PBA, TUDCA and leptin are taken into consideration, our results may define a novel treatment option for obesity.”

The results of the study can be found in Cell Metabolism journal and are likely to be accepted positively by diet and weight specialists, who are worried about the figures of a recent research funded by the government and conducted by Foresight, which claims that around 60 per cent of English male population and 50 per cent of the females may be medically obese in 2050.

England Faces Major Weight Problems

Filed under: Weight Loss — Tags: diet, fat, gastic band, gastric balloon, lapband, lipo, liposuction, obese, obesity, overweight, slimming, Weight Loss — admin @ 12:43 am

It is thought that demand for cosmetic surgery is likely to surge due to England‘s population facing significant weight problems.

Figures published by the government reveal that obesity levels in the state have almost doubled from 1993.

The report raises concerns by showing that one in four people were obese in 2007, which can be compared with the obesity levels 14 ago when 16 per cent of women and 13 per cent of men were considered medically obese.

The authors of the research claim that people are still not concerned enough with their need to get a sufficient amount of excercise in order to maintain a healthy body weight.

The researchers also note that the majority of the respondents did not know the daily alcohol intake allowance, which can also be linked to the obesity problems.

A number of individuals decide to undergo cosmetic surgery as a way of shedding extra pounds immediately.

Liposuction (surgical fat removal) can be used as a solution for weight problems in conjunction with healthy diet and excercise.

Male Breast Reduction Procedures in Demand

Filed under: Male Cosmetic Surgery — Tags: cosmetic surgery, embarrased, Gynaecomastica, hormones, Male breast reduction, man boobs, oestrogen, overweight, plastic surgery — admin @ 7:24 pm

There has been a dramatic increase in men demanding breast reduction procedures, claims one of UK’s top plastic surgeons.

Gynaecomastia, which is also commonly called man boobs, is a medical problem that causes male chest tissue to start developing similarly to female breast. It is difficult to establish a clear reason for this condition, but some doctors claim it may be due to disbalance of hormones in the body when there is a surcharge of the female hormone oestrogen. Moreover, gynaecomastia is likely to be developed by men who are heavily overweight or use drugs such as cannabis.

“Whenever I took my T-shirt off I had a proper set of boobs. They were massive, they were noticeable from every angle. I definitely would have passed for a woman,“ a sufferer told the Newsbeat.

“I wouldn’t have gone swimming – not a chance. Going on a foreign holiday, I wouldn’t have taken my top off until I was on my own. I was very self-conscious, very embarrassed. It was always on my mind. I would always have my arms folded or a big jumper on, something just to hide my chest.”

Getting rid of extra weight and keeping fit can reduce the condition, but for some men plastic surgery is the only way to remove the problem permanently.

Recent statistics collected by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons reveals that the number of male patients having breast reduction operations increased by more than a quarter from  2006 last year.

Raj Ragoowansi, who works as a consultant plastic surgeon at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in east London, says he has noticed a dramatic rise in the requests of men with the condition in the last three months. “This becomes a particular embarrassment for that person and they either become reclusive or shy,“ said the surgeon. He continues “It also affects their confidence and their self esteem and they tend to adjust their social lives and fashion accordingly. This is a problem which should be taken very seriously.”

However, some doctors are sceptical about undergoing surgery to remove this condition. It is so frequent that around 50% of men suffer from it at some point in their lifes. Overall, there is a noticeable increase in popularity of male plastic surgery. It was 17.5% higher last year than the year before.

The most common surgical procedures men choose to underg are nose correction, liposuction, eyelid operations and ear procedures as well as face and neck lifts.
