A helping hand

Filed under: Body Contouring — Tags: laser lipo, laser liposuction, liposuction, smart lipo, smart lipo surgery, smart liposuction, smartlipo — admin @ 3:58 pm

Ever had that feeling that you really need to lose weight but the problem has become so great that you just don’t know where to start? The mission of tackling your entire life and completely changing the way you view diet and exercise may just seem insurmountable. Well, now there may be a helping hand coming your way in the form of cosmetic surgery. It has long been warned that Liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss and that it is not a quick fix; this remains the case but there is a new form of liposuction on the market which is set to shake things up.

“Smart Lipo” is the new kid of the liposuction-family on the block and it is said to allow surgeons to undertake liposuction but in a much less aggressive way.  The treatment is said to be able to “jump start weight loss” according to Dr. Ronald Downs.  As much as the results are a physical change, Downs also believes that the mental changes Smart Lipo can provide are just as important. He commented that if someone has been trying really hard to lose some weight, but aren’t really seeing any impressive results then Smart Lipo can often give them the visual stimulus they need to continue with their weight loss program and pursue a much healthier life.

There are also, according to leading doctors, surgery and scientific benefits to the procedure as well.  The Smart Lipo allows surgeons to get just underside of the skin and thus the tightening of the skin which can be achieved during the surgery is vastly improved on normal liposuction. Of course, as with previous forms of liposuction, this surgery will not do the work of a diet for you. Rather, it will help show you the type of body which you may want and which you wish to achieve and thus you should be spurred on to continue with your new healthy regime.

The introduction of this new procedure is also designed to bring the flagging liposuction industry in a more healthy state of being. Liposuction was once the most popular procedure in the United States but this is no longer the case; new advancements and new procedures have knocked it off the top spot. However, this new form of quicker, less invasive lipo could well see Liposuction sprint back to the top of the league tables.

Increasing popularity in New Back Fat Cosmetic Operation

Filed under: Body Contouring — Tags: back fat, back liposuction, fat flanks, lipo, liposuction, love handles, smartlipo — admin @ 7:31 pm

New plastic surgery procedure targeted at removing excess fat from the back has been launched.

The procedure is known as bra line back lift and has recently faced a growing demand.

Brent Moelleken, a plastic surgeon interviewed by CBS, reported: “Women in their 30s and 40s are often great candidates for liposuction or lipo-sculpture as we call it now.

“It reduced the areas where the fat bothers them for example around the bra area or around the back.”

It turns out that bra line back lift is the most popular type of liposuction procedure. The scars left by the operation can be hidden under the straps of a bra..

Dr Joseph Hunstad, who is also a plastic surgeon, claims that the operation “rejuvenates the entire back”. The back lift operation last for about an hour and up to ten inches of skin can be removed.

A patient who has opted for undergoing the back lift procedure reported to the CBS: “I think the pleasure of seeing a more womanly shape will outweigh the small scar across my back.”

New Form of Liposuction Offered in US

Filed under: Cosmetic Surgery News,Weight Loss — Tags: Add new tag, laser surgery, lipo, liposuction, smartlipo — admin @ 3:20 pm

Laser surgery technology incorporated into Liposuction could lead the way.

A surgery in Los Angeles is offering patients a new form of liposuction that can offer faster results and a shorter recovery period in a method called SmartLipo.

Dr Christine Petti, based in LA, is offering patients the treatment which involves the use of lasers, described as “a minimally invasive procedure offering abundant benefits for liposuction patients”.  Petti is the Founder and Medical Director of the Aesthetic Accents Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Centre and is a highly acclaimed Cosmetic Surgeon in the LA area.

The treatment involves placing the patient under a local anaesthetic and then making an incision using a fibre optic laser. This method reduces scarring and other after effects of surgery by closing down the blood vessels, a reaction to the wavelengths sent by the laser. As a result, scarring is kept minimal, as well as bruising and swelling which subsequently reduces recovery time.

The method also includes melting of the fatty deposits in the body using further laser techniques. Here, two wavelengths work together to mould the fat and aide in skin tightening. The company refers to the procedure as producing “smoother, more natural and superior aesthetic results.”

Dr Petti herself says, “I believe that beauty is twofold, combining aesthetic eye appeal with inner peace to create a feeling of complete well-being. We work to achieve total enhancement.”

The technique differs to the traditional one, whereby a tiny incision is made in the skin without a laser and a tube called a cannula is inserted into the body. This tube is used to vacuum out the fatty deposits that lie beneath the skin and are often unresponsive to dieting and exercising. The cannula is pushed and pulled through the layer of fat, breaking it up as it vacuums it up through suction. Even with this version of the treatment, the incision is carefully considered so as to prevent scarring on the most part. To prevent patients from going into shock, fluids are on hand to enter the body as some are inevitably lost along with the fat.

Patients are always urged to discuss any procedure with their consultant before undergoing any surgeries. A surgeon can help you to decide on the risks involved with both forms of liposuction.
