Time Off Work to Recover From Cosmetic Surgery
Women may be eligible for sex discrimination lawsuits after cosmetic surgery
Women who take time off in order to recover from plastic surgery and are refused sick pay afterwards may be able to take employers to court for sexual discrimination.

Employers’ Law magazine was told by lawyer Malcolm Gregory that regulations acting against a large part of a gender group may be categorized as indirect sexual discrimination.
The lawyer used the fact that women undergo cosmetic procedures more often than men and claimed that not paying women for the time they spend recovering from the operation may be a case of discrimination.
The publication was repeated in the online resource Personneltoday.com shortly.
Mr Gregory, who works as a partner at Withy King Solicitors, claimed the company had been receiving enquiries from employers regarding whether employees who take time off to recover from plastic surgery are eligible for sick pay.
Even though some companies point out in employment contracts that sick pay is distributed according to the employer’s discretion, a claim may still be made.
In addition, patients have been advised by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons not to choose lower quality care services in order to cut expenditure.
