Brow Lift

Achieve a more alert and refreshed look

If you have inherited conditions such as a low, heavy brow or furrowed lines above the nose, you can achieve a more alert and refreshed look with a brow lift.

A brow lift is a subtle lifting of the skin of the forehead, often combined with some removal of underlying muscle and tissue to give a more youthful appearance to the upper part of the face. Surgery will correct drooping of eyebrows, loose skin and give some improvement to facial lines.

What is the procedure?

At least 4 incisions behind the hairline will be made, each less than an inch long. An endoscope, which is a pencil-thin camera device that is connected to a television monitor, is then inserted through each incision in turn, enabling the surgeon to see the muscles and tissues beneath the skin. He will then remove some of these to produce the smoother and younger looking forehead. When the incisions are closed, they are done so horizontally to give additional lift to the brow.

Could I be a suitable candidate for a brow lift?

Any one or a combination of the following conditions may indicate you are a suitable candidate for a brow lift:

  • Sagging or low position of the eyebrows, creating a tired or sad appearance
  • Frown lines, or furrows, between the eyebrows and sometimes across the top of the nose
  • Deep horizontal creases across the forehead

Will I really look better and feel better after a brow lift?

Most patients are pleased with the outcome and find they gain a feeling of increased self-confidence and get a restored youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes.

Can a brow lift be combined with other procedures?

A brow lift can be performed as a separate procedure, or can be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as blepharoplasty or a facelift.
