Hand Rejuvenation

Rejuvenate your hands to make them look much younger.

Most of us look at the process of aging as something we don’t want to experience ourselves, fearing all of the visible signals that show that someone is getting on in life. The hands are parts of the body that we use in our day to day lives, we see them all the time – and so do other people. This is why the idea of reversing the visible aging process on our hands is a popular course of action. It is also something that has many different methods attached to it, ranging from laser techniques, microdermabrasian, chemical peels and injectable fillers.

What are the treatments and how are they performed?

There are various methods of hand rejuvenation that can bring your hands back to life and make them look much younger. Chemical peels can be used to rid the skin of age spots and gives a skin a more solid appearance instead of the see through look it might have developed. Another one is microdermabrasian, which is a popular technique that involves firing a sandblast of crystals at the skin, taking away the top layer of the skin and leaving it looking refreshed. There are also laser techniques such as Fraxel laser technique that use lasers to create small columns in the tissue. As well as bringing the skin back to life it can also cause the body to create new collagen so that it rejuvenates the skin itself over an extended period of time. There are also methods such as injectable fillers that are effective ways of rejuvenating the hands – these can take the forms of artificial substances or some that use hyaluronic acid (such as Restylane), a natural element in the skin, to restore volume and again prompt collagen growth.

What areas can be treated?

The hands can be rejuvenated with these methods, but can be used in a variety of other places as well. For example, Microdermabrasian and laser treatments can be used on the face, neck and arms.

How long does it last?

This will depend on the treatment that you are undergoing, but many of them have long lasting effects. The hyaluronic acid treatments can last for around four to six months but this can vary from person to person.

Are there any side effects?

All of these treatments will have their own set of risks attributed to them. Microdermabrasian does not have any known side effects but other treatments such as laser treatments can include swelling and infections. Anything involving injections can cause soreness in the relevant area.
