Mr. James Murphy is a consultant cosmetic plastic surgeon with an established private practice with clients coming from all over Manchester and beyond. He is based at the Spire Hospital Manchester in Whalley Range with both consultations and cosmetic surgery taking place. He is a NHS consultant at the Didsbury, Manchester Christie Hospital.
In 1992, Mr. Murphy completed his education and began training for a surgical career. By 1996, he had completed a fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in England. His training in plastic surgery took Mr. Murphy to many locations: Oxford, Australia, the United States, and London. His research at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire earned him a Master of Surgery post-graduate degree. In 2002, he was given the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic surgery.
Mr Murphy is listed on the specialist register of the General Medical Council for plastic surgery. He enjoys full membership of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
He uses his expertise at Christie Hospital, Manchester as a plastic surgery consultant as part of his role in the NHS.
Mr. Murphy has published comprehensively throughout his career within many articles on the plastic surgery field and he also presents his work internationally at plastic surgery conferences. He is actively involved in teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Mr. Murphy is highly qualified and fully accredited by the major medical boards and has been successfully operating as a plastic and cosmetic surgeon for over ten years.
His academic pursuits and additional training only go to serve them better. He is qualified to perform Cosmetic and Plastic surgery that is as difficult as any procedures found in the field. His patient relationship begins with preoperative discussions of the cosmetic surgery procedure, risks, results, and recovery. The team of staff employed by Mr Murphy from the practice manager and secretaries to the nurses and anaesthetists are all as dedicated as he is to patient care and attention to detail.

Mr Murphy takes a very ethical approach to surgery by discussing all the possible outcomes of the cosmetic surgery procedures he suggests, with the patient’s best interest at the core of what he says. He gives them an honest, unbiased assessment of their physical realities and tells them their chances of success for their specific procedure.
He discusses possible outcomes and the things they must do to increase the likelihood for success. Mr. Murphy listens to patient concerns and addresses each of them until he is sure they have all the facts needed, so that the patient perfectly understands the procedure and can make an informed decision.
Mr. Murphy is with a patient every step of the way. He is there for consultation, questions leading up to surgery, surgery itself, and aftercare. At no point will the patient feel as if they are dealing with anything alone. He loves improving the lives of people and increasing their self-esteem and happiness.
