Mr. Lucian Ion has undergone training in both Europe and the UK. He first received his medical degree from the University of Bucharest and then started his general and plastic surgical training in Paris where he studied in several prestigious hospitals. He then went on to continue his training in Britain and passed his examinations to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). His advanced training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery was completed in central London plastic surgery units covering all the aspects of the specialty. This training included a fellowship in aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery at The Wellington Hospital in London.

Mr. Lucian Ion went on to successfully pass both the Intercollegiate Board exam in plastic surgery and the European Board exam in the specialty, and was also included on the Register of Medical Specialists of the General Medical Council, under the entry, plastic surgery.

In 2000 he was appointed to the position of Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he holds his NHS post and routinely treats patients for range of complex reconstruction surgery and other challenging procedures.

Mr. Ion is a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS); the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), and the British Burn Association.

From your first visit to his clinic you'll work directly with Consultant Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon Mr. Lucian Ion, the practice's director. Mr. Ion is currently involved in research projects evaluating the role of 3-D imaging / photography for the assessment and planning of facial plastic surgery procedures including rhinoplasty and facial rejuvenation, as well as the planning for breast reshaping surgery and liposuction. At your consultation imaging software will be used to show you how you might look after your cosmetic surgery procedure.

Mr. Ion has regularly been featured on television documentaries on cosmetic surgery on Discovery Health and Channel 5, and has appeared in print media such as newspapers and magazines on topics including facial surgery, rhinoplasty and adopting new technologies in his clinical practice.
