Guide To Non-Surgical Procedures - Lip Enhancement
Lip Enhancement
What is ‘lip enhancement’? This is the name given to the procedure in which a filler is injected into the lips to give that fuller, youthful look.
Full lips or a ‘pout’ are seen as a ‘must’ by a great many women who desire a sexy and alluring looking mouth. Plump lips are a sign of youth and sexual attractiveness.
The lips do tend to thin as we age: wrinkles form around the corners and they loose their definition and attractiveness.
Fillers can be used to remove wrinkles and lipstick stains and, will give you that all essential ‘pout’. It can be used on both the upper and lower lips.
The dermal filler used will be the hyaluronic acid version which is a naturally occurring chemical in the skin. This reduces the risk of allergies compared to the collagen type of filler.
This is a relatively straightforward procedure that is a non-surgical answer to the problem of ageing lips.
So, who is suitable for lip enhancement? Both young and old women are suitable for this procedure. It can replace the fullness of their lips as well as improving their size and shape.
If you are in good health, emotionally stable and realistic about the outcome of this procedure then lip enhancement is a good option.
The benefits and the risks of this procedure will be discussed in the consultation between you and the surgeon. During that consultation your current state of health and lifestyle will be taken into account. If the surgeon feels that this isn’t a suitable procedure then he will give you a good reason why. He or she can often recommend a good alternative.
The lip enhancement procedure
The surgeon will inject a local anaesthetic into the desired area. This will help to numb the lips (or the area around the lips).
Once that is done then he or she will inject the dermal filler into the lips to plump up their volume. This filler will eventually become integrated with the tissues of the body.
This usually takes 30 minutes to complete.
Recovery
Due to the speed of this procedure you will find that you can return home or back to work right away.
This can be an ideal procedure for busy, working women.
The benefits of lip enhancement
You will have larger, fuller and sexier looking lips. These will make you look younger and generally, feel better about yourself.
The results can last up to 6 months. If you wish to maintain your new ‘kissable’ appearance then regular ‘top up’ sessions are required.
The risks of lip enhancement
There are risks attached to all cosmetic procedures. As this is such a quick procedure any side effects tend to be very few.
